Full job description

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting doctors, and ensuring smooth functioning of the assigned ward/ICU. The role involves patient monitoring, medication administration, and maintaining accurate documentation as per hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care

Provide direct nursing care to patients as per treatment plan
Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to doctors
Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
Maintain patient hygiene and comfort

2. Clinical Duties

Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed
Assist doctors during procedures and rounds
Handle emergency situations efficiently (CPR, code blue, etc.)
Manage ICU/ward equipment and ensure readiness

3. Documentation

Maintain accurate nursing records and reports
Ensure proper charting of medications and treatment
Follow NABH documentation standards

4. Infection Control

Follow hospital infection control protocols
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization standards
Proper biomedical waste segregation

5. Coordination

Coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other departments
Communicate effectively with patients and relatives
Ensure smooth handover between shifts

6. Equipment & Inventory

Check and maintain medical equipment
Ensure availability of required consumables
Report any malfunction to biomedical team

Qualifications

GNM / B.Sc Nursing
Registered with State Nursing Council

Experience

0–2 years (Freshers can apply)
ICU/Cardiac experience preferred (if applicable)

Skills Required

Good clinical knowledge and patient care skills
Strong communication and teamwork
Ability to handle emergency situations
Basic computer knowledge for documentation

Working Conditions

Rotational shifts (Morning / Evening / Night)
Week-offs as per hospital policy

Reporting To

Nurse In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent

Pay: From ₹18,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
