POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Marketing Team Lead / Manager
Location: Mumbai, India
Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, flexible to suit the business requirements, occasional availability at New Zealand hours
Reporting to: Commercial Director, New Zealand. Dotted line reporting to India site head
Position Summary
The Marketing Team Lead /Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and governing marketing initiatives across a diversified hospitality portfolio in New Zealand, including star hotels, own brands, boutique hotels, serviced apartments/villas, restaurant brands, event centres, and other owned or partnered hospitality initiatives. The role blends strategy, execution, governance, reporting, and innovation, with strong ownership of digital presence, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
The position will be based out of Mumbai, India. Travel is not a primary requirement for this role.
1. Strategic Responsibilities (Explicitly Strategic)
- Define group-level marketing strategy aligned with business objectives across multiple asset types.
- Drive brand positioning and differentiation for each business vertical while maintaining group brand coherence.
- Identify growth opportunities through market trends, demand patterns, and consumer behaviour insights.
- Develop long-term campaign roadmaps, seasonal strategies, and launch plans.
- Guide budget allocation decisions across platforms and businesses to maximise ROI.
2. Multi-Business Marketing Execution & Oversight
- Plan and manage marketing initiatives for star and branded hotels, boutique hotels, serviced apartments and villas, restaurant brands (including Italian dining concepts), event and function centres, and group-owned hospitality brands.
- Ensure marketing approaches are customised to the nature of each business while remaining brand-consistent.
- Coordinate closely with property teams, restaurant managers, and sales teams to ensure on-ground alignment and effective execution, including periodic site visits where required.
3. Content, Creative & Campaign Management
- Oversee creation and quality of all marketing content including creatives, copy, photography, video, and campaign assets.
- Manage campaign execution across digital and offline channels.
- Step in hands-on when required to meet timelines, quality standards, or special project needs.
4. Digital Presence & Website Management
- Own and oversee all company and property websites including content updates, campaign landing pages, SEO fundamentals, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with developers, designers, and vendors.
- Ensure websites are conversion-oriented, up to date, and aligned with brand and business goals.
5. Influencer Planning & Customer Feedback Management
- Identify, plan, and manage influencer collaborations aligned with brand positioning and campaign objectives.
- Oversee structured collection and analysis of customer feedback across platforms such as Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, and social channels.
- Work with operations and leadership teams to convert feedback into actionable improvements and communication strategies.
6. Competition Analysis & Market Intelligence
- Conduct regular competitor benchmarking across pricing, positioning, campaigns, digital presence, and guest engagement.
- Track competitor activity to inform tactical and strategic adjustments.
- Identify white spaces and differentiation opportunities within local and regional markets.
7. Governance, Reporting & Performance Reviews
- Establish and manage a structured review and reporting cadence across marketing activities.

- Campaign progress reviews

Monthly:
- Marketing performance reporting and insights
- Budget tracking and optimisation
- Website and digital channel health review
Quarterly:
- Strategic review of campaigns and brand performance
- Competitor and market trend analysis
- Medium-term planning and recalibration
Annual:
- Annual marketing strategy and budget planning
- Brand health and portfolio-level performance review
- Present clear, insight-driven reports highlighting performance, learnings, risks, and opportunities.
8. Knowledge Upgrade & Industry Awareness
- Stay updated on hospitality marketing trends, digital platforms, consumer behaviour shifts, and emerging tools.
- Proactively recommend new approaches, platforms, and best practices relevant to the hospitality and lifestyle sector.
9. AI Integration in Marketing
- Identify and implement AI-driven tools for content creation and optimisation, campaign performance analysis, customer sentiment and review analysis, and reporting automation.
- Use AI to improve efficiency, decision-making quality, and scalability of marketing operations.
10. Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with senior management, property teams, restaurant managers, sales teams, and external partners to ensure alignment between business goals and marketing execution.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
Education & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
· Postgraduate qualification (MBA / PGDM in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Brand Management) preferred but not mandatory.
· Certifications in Digital Marketing, SEO/SEM, Analytics, or Marketing Automation are an added advantage.
Experience
· 8–12 years of progressive experience in marketing roles, preferably within hospitality, travel, F&B, real estate, or consumer-facing brands.
· Demonstrated experience handling multiple brands or business units simultaneously.
· Experience working with senior leadership, promoters, or directors is highly desirable.
· Prior exposure to agency coordination, vendor management, and campaign governance.
Functional & Technical Skills
· Strong understanding of brand strategy, campaign planning, and digital marketing channels.
· Experience in website management, content governance, and performance tracking.
· Hands-on exposure to social media, influencer engagement, and reputation management.
· Comfortable using data, dashboards, and reports to drive decisions.
· Exposure to AI tools for marketing execution or analytics is a strong plus.
