About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer who can build, maintain, and optimize Shopify stores for maximum performance, search visibility, and conversions. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of Shopify development, Google Merchant Center, technical SEO, and eCommerce best practices.
This role requires someone who can independently identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions that improve website performance, organic rankings, product visibility, and shopping campaign success.
Key ResponsibilitiesShopify Development
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes.
- Build custom Shopify sections, templates, and features.
- Improve website speed and Core Web Vitals.
- Optimize checkout and user experience.
- Implement Shopify Apps and custom integrations.
- Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues.
- Manage product collections, filters, navigation, and metafields.
- Implement tracking pixels and conversion events.
SEO Optimization
- Perform complete technical SEO audits.
- Fix indexing, crawling, canonical, and duplicate content issues.
- Optimize URLs, metadata, schema markup, breadcrumbs, and internal linking.
- Implement Product, Collection, Organization, FAQ, Review, and Article schema.
- Improve page speed and mobile optimization.
- Optimize image SEO and lazy loading.
- Resolve Search Console issues.
- Work closely with content and marketing teams on SEO best practices.
Google Merchant Center
- Configure and maintain Google Merchant Center.
- Resolve product disapprovals and feed errors.
- Optimize product titles, descriptions, GTINs, categories, and attributes.
- Ensure compliance with Google Shopping policies.
- Improve product feed quality and diagnostics.
- Manage supplemental feeds where required.
- Work with Google Ads teams to maximize Shopping campaign performance.
Analytics & Tracking
- Configure GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
- Track eCommerce events and conversions.
- Implement enhanced eCommerce tracking.
- Create dashboards and performance reports.
- Monitor SEO and shopping performance metrics.
Website Optimization
- Improve website conversion rate.
- Optimize landing pages.
- Reduce cart abandonment.
- Improve mobile shopping experience.
- Enhance navigation and product discoverability.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of Shopify development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify APIs.
- Experience with Shopify Plus is an advantage.
- Strong technical SEO expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Google Merchant Center.
- Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and Google Tag Manager.
- Knowledge of structured data (Schema.org).
- Experience improving Core Web Vitals.
- Familiarity with Shopify Markets and international SEO is a plus.
- Understanding of Google Shopping best practices.
- Experience with Shopify SEO apps such as AVADA SEO, TinyIMG, or similar.
- Ability to troubleshoot feed synchronization and indexing issues.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing stores with 500+ products.
- Experience in fashion, jewellery, or eCommerce retail.
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and apps.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo.
