Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded and collaborative Finance Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team supporting LGFS globally. This role operates at the intersection of financial services, technology and global business growth. In addition to traditional asset finance and leasing matters, the successful candidate will advise on new market entry, regulatory and licensing matters, financing entity establishment, treasury transactions, structured finance programmes, and next-generation technology financing solutions supporting cloud, AI, digital infrastructure and large-scale data centre deployments across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business & Transaction Support

Advise Lenovo Global Financial Services (LGFS) on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of financing transactions, including leasing, rental, subscription-based offerings, secured lending, receivables financing, referral arrangements, private label financing programmes, and other innovative financing solutions.

Partner with business teams to develop and implement new products, financing structures, and go-to-market strategies that support Lenovo's global growth objectives.

Provide commercially focused legal advice that balances risk management with business enablement across diverse markets and customer segments.

Support complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions involving customers, funders, referral partners, servicers, and strategic financing partners.
Entity Set-Up, Expansion & Regulatory Advisory
-
Lead legal support for the establishment, expansion, and ongoing management of LGFS financing entities globally, including evaluation of local regulatory frameworks, licensing requirements, governance structures, and operational models.

Advise on lending, leasing, and other financial services regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including analysis of licensing requirements, regulatory exemptions, consumer finance regulations, and market entry considerations.

Support business teams in assessing the legal feasibility of new markets, products, and financing solutions, including development of compliant operating models.

Coordinate with external counsel, compliance, tax, treasury, finance, and business stakeholders on regulatory and corporate structuring matters.
Treasury & Structured Finance Support

Provide legal support to Lenovo Global Treasury team on funding and liquidity initiatives, including debt facilities, warehouse structures, refinancing transactions, capital markets programmes, and other funding arrangements.

Draft, review and negotiate treasury-related documentation, including credit facilities, security packages, guarantees, receivables sale and purchase agreements, servicing agreements, trust arrangements, and related financing documents.

Support negotiation and management of ISDA agreements, derivative arrangements, hedging documentation, and other treasury risk-management instruments.

Advise on legal aspects of portfolio acquisitions, receivables assignments, securitisation-style structures, and other asset-backed financing transactions.
Contracting & Commercial Support

Draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial and financing documentation, including master lease agreements, loan agreements, security documents, financing programme agreements, partner arrangements, servicing agreements, guarantees, and related legal instruments.

Develop practical legal solutions to support sales, credit, operations, collections, finance, treasury, and product teams.

Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk allocation, enforceability, operational implementation, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Digital Infrastructure & Strategic Financing

Enable innovative financing solutions supporting cloud, AI, digital infrastructure and large-scale data centre opportunities globally.

Advise on the legal and regulatory aspects of new business models, including consumption-based and "as-a-service" offerings.

Support strategic technology financing initiatives, including Neo Cloud Financing, infrastructure financing and other growth programmes.

Partner with business and treasury stakeholders to structure scalable, commercially viable financing solutions for emerging technologies.
Portfolio Management, Recovery & Dispute Resolution

Support asset recovery strategies, collections activities, restructurings, settlements, and enforcement actions arising from distressed portfolios or customer disputes.

Work closely with collections, operations, finance, and external counsel to manage recovery actions and maximise portfolio outcomes.

Advise on insolvency, restructuring, litigation, arbitration, and enforcement matters impacting LGFS portfolios globally.
Policy, Governance & Risk Management

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of global LGFS legal policies, governance frameworks, contractual standards, and risk management processes.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including template development, legal playbooks, workflow optimisation, and legal process automation.

Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments affecting asset finance, lending, financial services, technology financing, data privacy, sanctions, and related areas.

Contribute to Lenovo-wide and LGFS-specific governance initiatives, helping ensure alignment between business objectives, regulatory obligations, and risk management frameworks.
Global Stakeholder Collaboration

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Legal, Treasury, Finance, Credit, Sales, Operations, Compliance, Product, and Executive Leadership teams.

Manage relationships with external counsel, financing partners, regulators, industry bodies, and service providers across multiple jurisdictions.

Participate in strategic projects supporting business transformation, new market entry, acquisitions, partnerships, and financing innovation initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in finance - asset finance, banking, or structured finance.

Strong understanding of finance documentation, security structures, guarantees, and receivables financing.

Experience in structuring and executing cross border, multi-jurisdictional leasing transactions.

Proven ability to assess and communicate legal risk in a commercial context.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

A collaborative team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Desirable Attributes

Prior experience advising financial institutions on incorporation, governance, and other general corporate queries.

Familiarity with complex service contracts with embedded finance arrangements.

Interest in technology and working in new and emerging markets.

Background or exposure to the financial services industry and regulatory frameworks applicable to lending. A mix of law firm and in house (Banks/ NBFCs) experience is good to have.
