Location: Bengaluru; occasional field travel may be required
Type: Internship
Duration: 4-6 Months
Function: Commercial Growth
Yaanendriya is an Indian deep-technology company building advanced sensing, navigation and control solutions for defence, robotics, unmanned systems and industrial applications. Our work spans inertial measurement units (IMUs), GNSS receivers, navigation controllers, inertial navigation systems (INS), sensor fusion and technologies for reliable operation in challenging and GNSS-denied environments.
We are building an indigenous technology platform—not merely a catalogue of products. This requires commercial teams that can combine market judgement, technical respect, disciplined execution and long-term customer stewardship.
This internship is designed for candidates who want to learn how sophisticated B2B and institutional technology products are taken to market. You will support target-account research, personalised outreach, customer discovery, opportunity tracking, technical-sales coordination, proposals and post-sale engagement.
This is not a telecalling internship. You will be expected to understand why an account is relevant before contacting it, document requirements carefully and support a thoughtful, account-based commercial process.
Your operating principle
Research before outreach. Listen before proposing. Document before committing. Escalate what you do not know instead of improvising technical answers.
- Identify relevant companies, platforms, programmes, institutions and decision-makers across priority sectors.
- Research each account’s products, applications, technical context and potential relevance to Yaanendriya.
- Build qualified account and contact lists with clear prioritisation rationale.
- Support personalised outreach through approved email, LinkedIn, telephone and event-based engagement.
- Follow up professionally and persistently without using spam-oriented methods.
- Help qualify whether an account has a relevant use case, requirement, decision process and realistic next step.
- Prepare account and customer briefing notes before meetings.
- Participate in discovery calls and record requirements, questions, decisions, risks and next actions.
- Convert meeting notes into structured internal opportunity summaries.
- Coordinate follow-ups between customers, commercial owners, engineers, operations and leadership.
- Assist with presentations, quotations, proposals, demonstration planning and documentation.
- Track samples, evaluations, trials and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Maintain accurate CRM stages, values, expected dates, dependencies and next actions.
- Escalate unclear technical or commercial questions instead of improvising answers.
- Research OEMs, system integrators, channel partners, institutions and ecosystem organisations.
- Prepare partnership briefs, meeting agendas and follow-up trackers.
- Track whether relationships are progressing toward customers, pilots, projects, programmes or orders.
- Support exhibitions, conferences, webinars, institutional meetings and industry programmes.
- Research relevant tenders and procurement opportunities under supervision.
- Support structured handover after an order or evaluation is confirmed.
- Track onboarding, documentation, dispatch, integration dependencies, training and customer follow-ups.
- Maintain a clear record of commitments and open items.
- Coordinate questions with engineering, operations or finance and ensure the customer receives an accurate response.
- Collect structured feedback after delivery, testing, integration or use.
- Help identify repeat orders, additional applications, references and account-expansion opportunities.
- Maintain clean CRM records, follow-up calendars and customer documentation.
- Prepare concise weekly pipeline and activity summaries.
- Track quotation status, purchase-order dependencies, delivery milestones and invoicing coordination.
- Help build standard processes for qualification, meetings, proposals, demonstrations and customer handovers.
- Handle confidential customer and product information responsibly.
- Make independent pricing, discount or contractual decisions.
- Promise specifications, integrations, customisations, compliance or delivery timelines.
- Act as the final technical authority.
- Independently manage sensitive defence or strategic accounts.
- Send unresearched mass messages or represent raw activity as qualified pipeline.
- Conceal customer concerns, missed commitments or internal delays.
- Engineering students or graduates in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, mechatronics, aerospace, mechanical engineering, robotics or related fields.
- MBA or management candidates with an engineering background or demonstrable technical curiosity.
- Candidates with experience in technical clubs, robotics teams, drones, electronics, B2B sales, entrepreneurship, events or customer-facing projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to conduct detailed research before approaching an account.
- Confidence speaking with professionals while remaining honest about technical limitations.
- Strong organisation, follow-through and documentation.
- Ability to learn technical products and ask intelligent questions.
- Comfort using spreadsheets, presentations, email and CRM systems.
- Persistence without aggressiveness; high integrity, discretion and willingness to close follow-up loops.
- Relevance and quality of accounts researched.
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM and meeting information.
- Quality of personalised outreach and qualified customer conversations generated.
- Completeness of requirement documentation and reliability of follow-up.
- Progression of opportunities to meaningful next stages.
- Quality of proposal, demonstration and customer-success coordination.
- Professionalism, technical learning, judgement and integrity.
What you will learn
How customer requirements become commercial opportunities; how proposals, demonstrations, evaluations and purchase orders are managed; how sales collaborates with engineering, operations and finance; and how customer success supports retention and account growth.
- Gain genuine exposure to technical B2B sales—not generic lead generation.
- Learn customer discovery, opportunity qualification, proposal development and CRM discipline.
- Work with founders, engineers and sophisticated customers.
- Understand defence, robotics, navigation, embedded systems and unmanned-technology markets.
- Build the professional judgement required for a career in technical sales, business development, key accounts or customer success.
