AV Product Sales Specialist (Pre-Sales & Solution Design)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AV Product Sales Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, consultants, and internal teams to understand audiovisual (AV), collaboration, and unified communication requirements and translate them into complete technical solutions. This role combines consultative selling, pre-sales engineering, solution design, bill of material (BOM) preparation, schematic development, and proposal creation.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of professional AV systems, video conferencing, audio solutions, control systems, LED displays, and networked AV technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Requirement Analysis

Meet with clients to understand business, meeting room, training room, auditorium, boardroom, command center, and collaboration requirements.
Conduct site surveys and requirement gathering sessions.
Analyze customer needs and recommend suitable AV, UC, and collaboration solutions.
Present technical solutions and explain system functionality to clients.

Solution Design & Engineering

Design end-to-end AV solutions based on customer requirements.
Prepare system architecture diagrams, signal flow diagrams, and AV schematics.
Develop room layouts and equipment placement recommendations.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards and project requirements.
Coordinate with OEMs and distributors for technical validation when required.

Bill of Materials (BOM) & Proposal Development

Prepare detailed Bills of Material (BOM) with accurate product selection and quantities.
Develop technical proposals, scope of work (SOW), compliance documents, and solution narratives.
Prepare cost estimates and support the sales team during bid submissions and tenders.
Review RFP/RFQ documents and prepare technical responses.

Product & Technology Expertise

Work with solutions from leading AV, collaboration, control, audio, and display manufacturers, including:

Cisco Collaboration and Video Conferencing solutions
Crestron Control, Automation, and Room Scheduling systems
Extron AV switching, distribution, control, and signal management solutions
Biamp DSP, audio processing, and conferencing solutions
Shure microphones, wireless systems, DSP, and conferencing audio solutions
Sennheiser conferencing audio, wireless microphone, and speech enhancement solutions
Professional audio systems, amplifiers, speakers, and digital signal processors
Active LED display and video wall solutions
Digital signage and content management systems
AV-over-IP and networked media distribution technologies
Room scheduling, workspace management, and collaboration platforms
Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting room solutions
Video conferencing cameras, codecs, and collaboration endpoints
Wireless presentation and content sharing solutions
Network infrastructure and PoE-based AV devices
Control room, command center, training room, and auditorium AV solutions

Technical Skills

Must Have

AV system design and integration knowledge
Schematic and signal flow diagram creation
BOM preparation and solution costing
Scope of Work (SOW) preparation
Video conferencing solutions
Audio DSP and microphone systems
Network fundamentals and IP-based AV systems
Microsoft Office Suite

Documentation & Project Handover

Prepare project documentation and design packages.
Coordinate with engineering and programming teams for implementation.
Support project handover and commissioning activities as required.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, Audio Visual Technology, or related field.
3–8 years of experience in AV pre-sales, solution design, or technical sales.
Experience in designing conference rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, auditoriums, and collaboration spaces.
Strong understanding of professional AV systems and unified communications.
