JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTANCY EXECUTIVE

Location: Cuttack
Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Purpose

The Accountancy Executive will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day accounting transactions, supporting statutory compliance, managing receivables and payables, and assisting management with financial reports and MIS.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Day-to-Day Accounting

Record purchase, sales, receipt, payment and journal transactions.
Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally Prime.
Maintain cash book, petty cash and expense records.
Prepare and maintain customer, supplier and general ledgers.
Verify bills, invoices, vouchers and supporting documents.
Ensure proper accounting documentation and filing.

B. Accounts Receivable & Collection

Maintain customer outstanding and ageing reports.
Track payments received from customers.
Follow up with concerned teams regarding overdue payments.
Reconcile customer accounts regularly.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly collection reports.

C. Accounts Payable

Maintain supplier/vendor outstanding records.
Verify purchase invoices before processing payments.
Track payment due dates.
Reconcile supplier ledgers.
Ensure proper approval and documentation before payments.

D. Bank & Ledger Reconciliation

Perform regular bank reconciliation.
Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
Identify discrepancies and coordinate for timely correction.
Maintain proper records of bank transactions.

E. GST & Statutory Compliance

Assist in GST-related accounting and reconciliation.
Support preparation of GST returns and related data.
Reconcile purchase/sales data with GST records.
Assist in TDS, PF, ESI and other applicable statutory compliance.
Maintain supporting documents for statutory filings.

F. Financial Reporting & MIS

Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports.
Prepare outstanding, collection, expense and sales-related MIS.
Assist in preparation of Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet schedules.
Provide financial data required by management.
Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

G. Audit Support

Coordinate with internal/statutory auditors.
Provide vouchers, ledgers and supporting documents required for audits.
Assist in resolving audit queries.
Maintain proper audit documentation.

3. Daily / Weekly / Monthly Deliverables

Daily

Accounting entries
Invoice and voucher verification
Cash/bank transaction updates
Collection and outstanding updates

Weekly

Bank reconciliation
Customer/vendor ledger reconciliation
Outstanding and collection report
Pending payment review

Monthly

Month-end closing activities
GST/TDS data preparation
Trial Balance support
MIS and management reports
Expense analysis
Accounts receivable/payable ageing

4. Qualification

B.Com / M.Com preferred.
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
Freshers with strong accounting knowledge may also be considered.

5. Technical Skills

Good knowledge of Tally Prime.
Good knowledge of MS Excel.
Knowledge of GST and TDS.
Understanding of accounting principles.
Knowledge of bank and ledger reconciliation.
Ability to prepare basic MIS reports.

Timeliness of daily accounting
Bank reconciliation accuracy
Customer/vendor ledger reconciliation
Outstanding and collection reporting
GST/TDS data accuracy and timely submission
Month-end closing efficiency
MIS/reporting accuracy
Audit readiness
Proper documentation and record maintenance

8. Working Conditions

Office-based position.
Standard working hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.
Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end, year-end or audit periods.

9. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be accurate, disciplined, trustworthy and comfortable working with numbers and financial data. The candidate should take ownership of accounting activities and ensure that management receives reliable and timely financial information.

Pay: ₹8,602.90 - ₹15,000.00 per month
