Senior Manager – Business Development

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager – Business Development – Oil & Gas to drive strategic business growth and expand our client portfolio in the Oil & Gas and Process Industry.

The role requires strong industry knowledge, a proven track record in business development, customer relationship management, lead generation, and order conversion. The candidate will be responsible for achieving business targets and developing long-term relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development strategies for the Oil & Gas and Process Industry.
Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and convert them into successful order bookings.
Manage and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective customers across the Oil & Gas and Process Industry.
Act as a key customer relationship interface with various levels of client organizations, including senior management and technical/commercial stakeholders.
Build strong networks and establish relationships with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, process industries, consultants, and other key industry representatives.
Take ownership and accountability for achieving assigned Business Unit sales targets.
Develop and manage a sales pipeline and provide regular updates on business opportunities, forecasts, and order potential.
Identify market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and emerging business opportunities.
Drive customer empanelment and registration for various services with target organizations.
Liaise with different levels of client and industry representatives to understand requirements and create new business opportunities.
Support the tendering team by providing market intelligence, customer inputs, technical write-ups, commercial inputs, and costing-related information to improve the chances of winning projects.
Coordinate with internal technical, operations, and tender teams to develop customized solutions and proposals for customers.
Develop business opportunities related to Third Party Inspection (TPI), Factory/Final Quality Assurance (FQA), Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety, HSE Services, and other relevant technical services.
Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling of services.
Prepare and present business proposals, commercial offers, and customer presentations as required.
Negotiate with customers and coordinate internally to ensure timely closure of business opportunities.
Monitor order execution and maintain customer engagement to support repeat business and long-term relationships.
Prepare periodic business development reports, sales forecasts, and market updates for management.
Business Target & Scope
Should have the capability to independently manage a business portfolio of approximately ₹12–15 Crore annual sales, primarily from private-sector customers.
Demonstrated ability to manage the complete business development cycle from lead generation customer engagement proposal/tender negotiation order booking.
Strong focus on revenue growth, customer acquisition, account development, and target achievement.
Required Industry Knowledge

The candidate should have a clear understanding of and hands-on exposure to services such as:

Third Party Inspection (TPI)
Factory/Final Quality Assurance (FQA)
Mechanical Integrity Services
Process Safety
HSE Services
Inspection, testing, certification, and technical services related to the Oil & Gas / Process Industry
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience in Business Development / Sales / Customer Relationship Management within the Oil & Gas and Process Industry.
Strong understanding of Oil & Gas, petrochemical, refinery, chemical, and process industry customers.
Experience in handling key accounts and developing relationships with senior customer representatives.
Strong liaisoning, networking, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
Strong lead generation, opportunity management, and order conversion capabilities.
Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of sales processes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel extensively across the North Region and customer locations.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or a relevant technical discipline.
MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing / Business Development will be an added advantage.
