Description

GEM Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Nursing department in Chennai. This full-time, on-site position is available across our ward, Emergency Room (ER), Gynecology Ward, and ICU units. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

This role is ideal for a mid-senior level nursing professional who is passionate about patient safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care. At GEM Hospital, you will work alongside experienced medical professionals, handle critical patient cases, and contribute to positive patient outcomes across multiple departments. Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in ward, ER, Gynecology Ward, and ICU settings
Assess, monitor, and document patient vital signs, conditions, and responses to treatment
Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, and emergency interventions
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper handover documentation
Coordinate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Operate and monitor medical equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and infusion pumps
Provide emotional support and health education to patients and their families
Maintain hygiene, infection control, and safety protocols within the unit
Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies in the ER and ICU
Ensure proper handling and inventory management of nursing supplies and medications
Collaborate with senior nurses and unit in-charges to maintain high standards of care

Requirements

B.Sc Nursing or DGNM qualification from a recognized institution
Valid nursing registration with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council is preferred
2-5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting
Proficiency in handling ER, ICU, ward, or gynecology nursing procedures
Strong knowledge of patient care protocols, infection control, and medication administration
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction
Compassionate, patient-focused approach with strong attention to detail
Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as required
Basic proficiency in using electronic health records and nursing documentation tools
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
