Business Development / Sales Intern – IoT

Location: Powai, Mumbai
Job Type: Internship 6 Months
Industry: IoT | Industrial IoT | AI | Smart Infrastructure
Experience: Freshers / 0–1 Year

About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development / Sales Intern who is interested in learning about IoT, B2B sales and business development. The intern will work closely with the Sales and Business Development teams and gain practical exposure to lead generation, prospecting, customer communication and the sales process.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Prospecting

Research potential customers across Solar, Water, RMC, AQMS and Industrial IoT sectors.
Identify relevant companies, decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Generate leads through LinkedIn, email, online research, company databases and other channels.
Build, verify and maintain prospect databases.
Support outreach campaigns, events and exhibition-related lead generation.

Telecalling & Customer Outreach

Conduct outbound calls using company-provided databases.
Introduce Ubiqedge’s IoT solutions and understand basic customer requirements.
Qualify leads and record relevant customer information.
Follow up with prospects and maintain regular communication.
Escalate qualified opportunities to the Business Development / Sales team.

Sales & Business Development Support

Assist in customer meeting coordination and follow-ups.
Participate in customer meetings and product demonstrations to understand the sales process.
Assist in preparing presentations, quotations, proposals and other sales documents.
Support the team in understanding customer requirements and coordinating with technical teams.
Conduct basic market and competitor research.

IoT Product Learning

Learn and understand our IoT products, solutions and real-world applications.
Develop a basic understanding of sensors, connectivity, gateways, cloud platforms and IoT applications.
Understand how IoT solutions are used across water management, industrial automation, utilities, renewable energy and smart infrastructure.

CRM & Data Management

Maintain and update prospect and customer information.
Record call outcomes, lead status and follow-up activities.
Keep CRM and prospect databases accurate and updated.
Track assigned leads and pending follow-ups.

What We’re Looking For

Fresher or currently pursuing BBA, BMS, B.Com, MBA, Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
Basic awareness of the IoT ecosystem is preferred.
Strong interest in IoT, technology, sales and business development.
Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable speaking with new people and making outbound calls.
Good listening, follow-up and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets and internet research.
CRM knowledge is an advantage.
Positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.
Self-motivated and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.

Important

No prior sales or business development experience is required.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in IoT and technology solutions who is willing to learn how IoT products are taken to the market and sold to businesses.
