Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Windchill Administrator to manage, maintain, and support the organization's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment using PTC Windchill. The candidate will be responsible for Windchill administration, user management, workflow configuration, product data management, SAP part release activities, and CAD integrations. The role involves working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT teams to ensure efficient management of engineering data and seamless product release processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesWindchill Administration
· Administer and maintain the PTC Windchill PLM environment.
· Create, manage, and support users, groups, roles, and access permissions.
· Configure products, libraries, projects, and organizational contexts.
· Manage lifecycle states, workflows, and release processes.
· Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
· Support Windchill upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
· Perform system health checks and preventive maintenance activities.
· Troubleshoot and resolve Windchill application issues.
Product Data Management (PDM)
· Manage engineering documents, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and BOMs within Windchill.
· Ensure proper version control, revision management, and document lifecycle compliance.
· Maintain product structures and engineering data integrity.
· Support data migration, bulk loading, and data cleanup activities.
· Ensure compliance with PLM governance and documentation standards.
· Create and maintain engineering metadata, classifications, and attributes.
SAP Part Number Release & Integration
· Support creation, validation, and release of part numbers from Windchill to SAP.
· Manage Material Master data creation and maintenance in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
· Verify engineering drawings, BOMs, revisions, descriptions, and classifications before SAP release.
· Ensure timely release of engineering parts, assemblies, and product structures into SAP.
· Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and SAP-related change processes.
· Monitor and troubleshoot Windchill-SAP integration issues.
· Ensure synchronization and consistency of engineering data between Windchill and SAP.
· Maintain audit records and documentation related to part number release activities.
· Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, and Quality teams during new product introduction (NPI) projects.
CAD & Creo Integration Support
· Support Creo Parametric integration with Windchill.
· Assist users with CAD check-in/check-out processes and workspace management.
· Resolve CAD data management and configuration issues.
· Support CAD document release and revision control activities.
· Maintain CAD-related product structures and dependencies.
Workflow & Change Management
· Configure and support Change Requests (CR), Change Notices (CN), Problem Reports (PR), and promotion workflows.
· Monitor workflow execution and resolve workflow-related issues.
· Support engineering change management processes.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance PLM efficiency.
· Ensure proper implementation of lifecycle and approval workflows.
User Support & Training
· Provide functional and technical support to Windchill users.
· Investigate and resolve user issues through ticketing systems.
· Create user documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
· Conduct user training sessions on Windchill processes and best practices.
· Gather business requirements and support implementation of enhancements.
Reporting & Compliance
· Generate PLM reports, dashboards, and engineering data metrics.
· Support internal and external audits related to engineering data management.
· Maintain compliance with organizational product development and quality processes.
· Ensure product data accuracy and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
