SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Company: Gautam Shewa Architects (GSA)

Gautam Shewa Architects is a Mumbai-based architecture and design studio specializing in architectural, interior, and landscape design. With over a decade of experience, GSA has delivered 50+ projects across India and Dubai, spanning residential, commercial, and specialized healthcare spaces. Our work blends functionality, craftsmanship, and refined design to create spaces that enhance everyday living.

About the Role

Gautam Shewa Architects is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization.

The role involves managing accounting entries, billing and invoicing, client and vendor accounts, GST and TDS compliance, E-Way Bill preparation, bank reconciliation, financial documentation, audit coordination and preparation of management reports.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting records, bills, invoices and statutory documents are accurately maintained, properly documented and updated on a timely basis. The candidate will also coordinate closely with the management, Chartered Accountant, auditors, vendors and clients to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting processes, practical knowledge of Tally Prime, GST, TDS, MS Excel and E-Way Bills, and the ability to independently manage accounting activities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Handle day-to-day accounting activities in Tally Prime.
Record and verify sales, purchase, receipt, payment and journal entries.
Maintain accurate books of accounts and ledgers.
Ensure correct accounting treatment and proper narration for all entries.
Review and rectify accounting discrepancies.
Handle month-end and year-end accounting activities.
Maintain proper records of advances, adjustments, credit notes and debit notes.
Assist in finalisation of accounts.

2. Billing & Invoice Management

Prepare and maintain client invoices and GST tax invoices.
Verify vendor bills and purchase invoices before accounting.
Maintain proper records of all sales, purchase and expense bills.
Maintain invoice-wise and party-wise documentation.
Track pending bills, invoices and supporting documents.
Maintain proper records of credit notes, debit notes and adjustments.
Ensure all bills and invoices are properly filed and easily accessible for audit and reference.

3. GST & E-Way Bill

Handle day-to-day GST-related accounting activities.
Prepare data for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
Reconcile purchase ITC with GSTR-2B.
Verify GST applicability and GST calculations on invoices.
Prepare and manage E-Way Bills as required.
Maintain proper records of E-Way Bills and GST documents.
Track GST payments and maintain supporting records.
Coordinate with the CA for GST returns, reconciliations and GST-related queries.

4. TDS & Statutory Compliance

Handle TDS accounting and reconciliation.
Verify TDS applicability and deductions on payments.
Maintain TDS-related records and supporting documents.
Coordinate with the CA for TDS returns, certificates and payments.
Assist in other statutory compliance requirements as applicable.

5. Client Accounts & Receivables

Maintain client-wise ledgers and outstanding statements.
Prepare and maintain receivable reports.
Track client payments as per agreed payment schedules.
Reconcile client accounts and receipts.
Record advances and adjust them against respective invoices.
Provide updated outstanding details to management whenever required.

6. Vendor Accounts & Payables

Verify vendor bills, invoices and supporting documents.
Maintain vendor-wise ledgers and outstanding statements.
Reconcile vendor accounts regularly.
Track vendor advances and adjustments.
Verify GST/TDS deductions before processing payments.
Maintain proper documentation for vendor payments.

7. Bank Reconciliation

Perform regular Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
Verify bank transactions with Tally records.
Identify and resolve unreconciled transactions.
Maintain proper records of bank payments, receipts and transfers.

8. Documentation & Record Management

Maintain complete and systematic accounts and financial documentation.
Maintain physical and digital records of bills, invoices, receipts, payment proofs, bank statements, GST documents, TDS documents and other supporting documents.
Ensure proper filing and indexing of accounting documents.
Maintain project-wise / client-wise financial documents wherever required.
Ensure all documents are readily available for management review and audit.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.

9. Audit & Finalisation

Handle and coordinate internal and statutory audit requirements.
Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant and auditors.
Prepare and provide required ledgers, invoices, bills, bank statements and supporting documents.
Prepare audit schedules and required reconciliations.
Resolve accounting queries raised during audit.
Assist in year-end finalisation of accounts.
Ensure all required documents and records are available for audit within timelines.

10. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare monthly accounting and MIS reports.
Prepare client-wise receivable and vendor-wise payable reports.
Prepare expense and payment summaries.
Provide project-wise financial information when required.
Assist management with accounting and financial analysis.
Provide accurate and timely financial information to management.

Candidate Profile

Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent.
Experience: 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime and MS Excel.
Practical knowledge of GST, TDS and E-Way Bill.
Experience in billing, invoicing, bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
Experience in handling audit and coordination with CA / auditors.
Strong documentation and record-management skills.
Good communication, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with accuracy and meet deadlines.
Experience in an architecture, interior design, construction, consultancy or professional services firm will be an added advantage.
