YOUR TASKS
Job Description for the Position: Logistics Planner
- Responsible for developing and implementing logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within the constraints of operational capabilities.
- Coordinate with supply chain on capacity planning and logistics issues, including transportation, delivery, and warehousing.
- Analyze logistical problems, develop new solutions and work continuously on improving existing logistics processes.
- Monitor the entire supply chain from order placement to delivery, ensuring orders are processed efficiently.
- Implement and manage the inventory control systems and processes, providing accurate and timely information for order fulfillment.
- Collaborate effectively with various internal departments such as sales, production, purchasing, and warehousing.
- Assist in identifying and managing risk within the supply chain.
- Maintain excellent relationships with carriers and negotiate contracts and rates.
- Utilize IT systems to manage shipping times, costs and stock levels.
- Prepare detailed reports on logistics operations, costs, and key performance metrics.
- Ensure all current laws, regulations, standards and best practices are adhered to within the scope of distribution and logistics.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Job Qualifications for the Position: Logistics Planner in the Lighting Industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- At least 7 - 8 years of direct experience in logistics planning, ideally within the lighting or related industry.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, warehousing operations, and transportation systems.
- Experience with logistics software and databases for managing order shipments and inventory levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize logistical processes for cost-efficiency and timely delivery.
- Superior negotiation skills for securing rates with carriers and vendors.
- Familiarity with industry laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to handle unexpected blocks efficiently.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and coordinate workflows.
