Job Summary
The Senior Supervisor – Transport Operations is responsible for supervising, and supporting all school transport operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation of students and staff. The role additionally includes short route planning, impromptu fleet utilization, driver discipline & management, vendor coordination, compliance with safety as per CBSE regulations, and continuous cost optimization while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operation of the school transport fleet to ensure smooth and uninterrupted services.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of all school buses according to approved schedules.
- Coordinate with school administration, transport staff, and parents regarding transport-related matters.
Route Planning & Optimization
- Design and optimize bus routes based on student locations, capacity utilization, and travel time on new routes/additional routes
- Review and revise routes periodically based on admissions, road conditions, and operational requirements.
- Ensure balanced bus occupancy while maintaining student safety and comfort.
Cost Management
- Implement cost minimization initiatives across transport operations.
- Monitor fuel filing & consumption, mileage, and vehicle performance(KPL).
- Control transportation expenses through efficient scheduling, route optimization, and preventive maintenance planning.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly transport cost analysis reports and recommend improvement opportunities. (MIS)
Fleet Management
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle fitness, servicing, insurance, permits, pollution certificates, and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate repairs and breakdown support to minimize downtime.
- Maintain complete fleet documentation and maintenance records.
- Monitory and manager Bus Parking in Gurugram locations.
Driver & Staff Supervision
- Supervise drivers, conductors, and transport support staff. (Leave, absence & duty allocations)
- Monitor attendance, duty allocation, discipline, and performance.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and operational training.
- Ensure adherence to school transport policies and traffic regulations.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with government regulations related to school transportation.
- Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections.
- Ensure availability and functionality of safety equipment including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, GPS, CCTV, and emergency exits.
- Investigate transport incidents and implement corrective actions.
Technology & Monitoring
- Monitor GPS tracking systems for route adherence and punctuality.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with transport vendors, maintenance agencies, fuel suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Address parent and student transport concerns promptly.
- Support transport-related planning for school events and special activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Transport Management

· Minimum 5 years of experience in CBSE Schools
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in transport operations, fleet management, logistics, or school transport management.
- Experience in route planning, fleet supervision, and cost optimization is preferred.
