Job Title: Sr. Manager Upstream Planning Leader (KFF5)
Purpose of the Role
The Upstream Planning Leader is responsible for organizing and optimizing the procurement and supply chain flows of components from suppliers to the plant, ensuring availability of materials while driving supplier performance, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with Schneider Production System (SPS) principles. Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Procurement Optimization

Organize and optimize the procurement of components from suppliers by applying SPS principles across physical and information flows.

Define and manage logistics solutions, batch sizes, lead times, packaging standards, ABC/FMR analysis, stocking policies, and consignment stock programs.

Manage OFO (Order Fulfillment Optimization) and Purchase-to-Order parts.

Address and manage gaps between supplier forecasts and actual demand.

Own supplier forecasting processes and continuously improve forecast accuracy. [UFS JD (1) | PowerPoint]
Supplier Performance Management

Monitor and improve upstream supply chain performance.

Drive supplier development through improvement tools, material management practices, and SPS methodologies.

Assess supplier capacities and collaborate with Procurement teams to address bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and localization opportunities.

Improve key performance indicators including Supplier On-Time Delivery (S-OTD), MOQ, Lead Time, inventory metrics, and supplier responsiveness. [UFS JD (1) | PowerPoint]
Supply Chain Issue Resolution

Lead containment, corrective, and preventive actions for upstream supply chain disruptions using the 8D problem-solving methodology.

Escalate critical supplier supply chain issues to SQLD when necessary.

Ensure timely resolution of material shortages and delivery risks. [UFS JD (1) | PowerPoint]
Supplier Governance & Compliance

Implement and maintain supplier management rules and principles.

Support PPEP, supplier transfer/disengagement processes, SAM audits, and logistics contract compliance.

Continuous Improvement

Apply Lean Supply Chain tools such as:

Value Stream Mapping (VSM)

Extended Value Stream Mapping (E-VSM)

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supplier and material management processes.

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline.

Minimum 6-8 years experience in Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Logistics, or Manufacturing Operations.

Knowledge of Lean, SPS, Material Planning, Inventory Management, and Supplier Development practices.
-
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and supplier performance management processes.
