Job Summary:
The Distribution Manager plays a key role in driving biopharma sales growth in India by managing and supporting distributors, setting and aligning targets, and ensuring those targets are achieved through consistent collaboration and monitoring. Additionally, the promotion of Nova Biomedical’s BioPharma product line across all relevant customers in India is required. This role demands a proactive, sales-oriented professional with strong relationship management, analytical, and leadership skills to help distributors succeed while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Indian distributors to set realistic yet ambitious sales targets that align with their input and the company’s objectives for biopharma product lines
- Ensure distributors meet or exceed their targets by regularly reviewing performance, sales funnels, and key opportunities
- Track and monitor distributors’ activities, ensuring adherence to agreed sales strategies and plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors to maximize sales performance and brand recognition
- Serve as the main point of contact for distributors, addressing inquiries and providing ongoing support to ensure satisfaction and alignment with company goals
- Support with the potential identification and onboarding of new distribution partners to expand market presence and drive regional growth
- Conduct regular meetings with distributors to review pipelines, forecast accuracy, marketing strategies and key account opportunities
- Frequently co-travel with distributor sales representatives to strengthen field execution and customer engagement
- Analyse sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Support distributors in creating and executing territory plans, ensuring alignment with broader regional strategies
- Prepare and deliver regular sales reports to the Sr Manager, Global Distribution Sales, Biopharma division, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations
- Organize and deliver training sessions to distributor sales teams, enhancing their product knowledge and sales capabilities
- Equip distributors with sales tools, resources, and messaging that drive success in the field
- Ensure successful new product launches via distribution channels
- Gather and analyse market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback to refine product and sales strategies
- Act as the voice of the distributors internally, ensuring their challenges and opportunities are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions, providing support to distributors and strengthening the company’s market presence
- Work closely with product management, marketing, application and technical support, and logistics teams to provide distributors with the tools and support needed to achieve their goals
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address distributor challenges and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Degree in Sciences, preferably Life Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in Life Science Device sales or Business Development. Experience specifically in distribution or channel management in India is preferred.
- Solid understanding of biologics development workflows - in particular cell line development, process development, GMP manufacturing, fill & finish – and customer needs
- Excellent knowledge of and network within the Indian Biopharma market
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Fluency in English and Hindi is essential; knowledge of regional languages (e.g., Kannada, Tamil, or Telugu) is a significant advantage for southern territories
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively within the region, sometimes on short notice
- Independent but also a Team player
- Excellent problem-solving skills, combined with a pro-active, flexible and adaptive approach to work
- Highly organized with experience of using databases to maximum effect
- Valid driver’s license
