Procurement Lead - Green Field Projects
Overview: We are seeking an innovative and experienced Procurement Lead to spearhead our green field project initiatives. This role is crucial in establishing procurement processes from the ground up for new facilities or operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainable procurement practices and experience in managing procurement for new project developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored for green field projects, with a focus on sustainability and long-term cost-effectiveness Create procurement frameworks and processes for new operations, ensuring they align with company objectives and industry best practices Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for green field projects, with an emphasis on those offering sustainable and innovative solutions Negotiate and establish contracts with suppliers, considering the unique needs of new project developments Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand and fulfill procurement requirements for green field initiatives Implement sustainable procurement practices, focusing on environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions Manage the entire procurement lifecycle for green field projects, from initial planning to final implementation Develop and maintain a supplier database specific to green field projects and sustainable solutions Conduct market research to identify emerging technologies and sustainable materials relevant to new project developments Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals in all procurement activities Coordinate logistics and supply chain management for new facilities, considering the unique challenges of green field locations Analyze and report on procurement performance metrics, with a focus on sustainability and cost-effectiveness Manage risk in the supply chain, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues in new project environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
7+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years specifically in green field or new project developments
Proven track record in sustainable procurement practices and implementing green initiatives
Strong understanding of project management principles and experience working in project-based environments
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex procurement scenarios
Strong negotiation skills and experience in establishing new supplier relationships
Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable business practices
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams
Experience in change management and implementing new processes
LEED Accredited Professional or similar sustainability certification is a plus
Professional procurement certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) preferred
