Full job description

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Marine, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in the Marine, Offshore, or Oil & Gas sectors with drafting estimation skill.
Strong technical knowledge of shipbuilding, offshore fabrication, piping systems, and marine equipment.
Advanced Proficient in AutoCAD software, Other relevant drafting software and MS Office.
Familiarity with international marine and offshore industry standards and regulations.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Good communication and coordination skills

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, detail drawings, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD 2D & 3D
Generate Material Take-Offs (MTOs) from GA and detailed drawings for procurement purposes.
Extract shop drawings from 3D models and ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
Extract/Prepare Single part drawings of plate and profile to prepare plate/profile nesting drawings.
Update basic scantling plans based on 3D modelling outputs.
Ensure drawings comply with relevant marine and offshore industry standards and terminologies.
Work on structural detailing of marine vessels, including oil tankers, jack-up rigs, offshore jackets, and platforms.
Review and revise drawings based on client, consultant, or project team comments.
Coordinated with interdisciplinary departments to ensure engineering drawings complied with production requirements and aligned with project objectives.
Understand and incorporate welding standards and material specifications.
Interpret Scope of Work, Project specifications and standards to ensure quality and consistency in design deliverables.
Conduct quality checks to ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project documentation upon project completion.
Contribute to the preparation of detailed engineering drawings for use in fabrication and construction.
Mentor and guide junior draftsmen and provide technical support when required.
Participate in project coordination meetings and contribute to design reviews.
Ensure timely delivery of drafting outputs according to project schedules.

DESIRED SKILLS:-

Ability to interpret and analyse engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong negotiation skills with proven capability in vendor and subcontractor management.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Effective communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and departments.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on cost optimisation and value engineering.
Experience with multidisciplinary projects.
Knowledge of local and international drafting standards.
Familiarity with document management systems.
Understanding of 3D modeling and BIM platforms is an advantage.
Leadership experience in supervising drafting teams.
