Full job description

We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to be the sole design owner for the RailYatri product surface. You will lead end-to-end design across our consumer mobile apps, website, and supporting tools, partnering directly with product, engineering, and business leadership. This is

a high-ownership role: every screen the RailYatri user sees will be shaped by you.

We are building this team for the 2026 reality. We expect AI fluency to be a default part of how you work: prototyping faster, synthesising research faster, generating and stress-testing variants faster. We also expect you to own the loop between design and outcomes, which means defining instrumentation at design time and reading the resulting data to drive iteration.

Key Responsibilities:

Own the end-to-end design of the RailYatri product surface, including consumer mobile apps, website, and supporting tools.
Lead the full design cycle in Figma: user research, problem framing, user flows, wireframes, hi-fi mockups, interactive prototypes, and developer handoff.
Define product instrumentation requirements at design time, partner with analytics to set up the right dashboards, and read funnels, heatmaps, and behavioural data to drive iterative improvement.
Run usability testing and lightweight research with real users, and translate findings into design changes that ship.
Maintain and evolve the RailYatri design system to keep visual and interaction consistency across platforms.
Use AI tools across your workflow to accelerate ideation, prototyping, research synthesis, and content generation, without compromising on craft.
Walk product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders through design rationale, defend ntradeoffs, and incorporate feedback.
Partner with engineering during build and with QA during rollout to ensure designs ship at the intended quality.

Qualifications:

5-8 years of experience as a Product Designer, preferably in consumer internet, e-commerce, travel, or mobility.
Demonstrated track record of shipping consumer mobile and web products at scale, with measurable user impact.
A portfolio that shows craft across user flows, wireframes, hi-fi mockups, and shipped final designs, not just concepts.
Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate design and shipping cycles, across prototyping, research, and content generation. Comfort adopting new AI tools as the landscape evolves.
Comfort defining product instrumentation, reading product analytics dashboards (GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), and using behavioural data to drive design decisions.
Strong fluency in Figma, including auto-layout, components, variants, and design system management.
Experience owning a design system and maintaining consistency across platforms.
High ownership. Comfortable being the sole designer for a complex product surface and operating without a design manager looking over your shoulder.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to walk leadership through design rationale and defend tradeoffs.
Proficient in English; knowledge of Hindi is a plus.
Open to working full-time, on-site from our Kochi office.

Nice to have:

Prior experience in a transport, travel, or ticketing product.
Exposure to motion design, micro-interactions, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
Past experience working as the sole or first designer in a team.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
