Job Description
Tax Compliance Ensure timely and accurate filing of direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., income tax, VAT/GST, TDS, withholding tax). Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact, and update processes accordingly. Liaise with government and tax authorities for notices, assessments, and litigation matters. 2. Tax Planning & Advisory Advise the business on tax-efficient structures for operations, investments, and transactions. Evaluate the tax impact of business initiatives, contracts, and cross-border activities. Provide guidance on transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and permanent establishment risks. 3. Tax Accounting & Reporting Ensure accurate tax provision and reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Support month-end and year-end close processes, including deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations. Prepare tax-related disclosures and schedules for financial statements and audits. 4. Transfer Pricing Ensure transfer pricing documentation is maintained and aligned with global tax policies. Coordinate with external advisors to support benchmarking and compliance with OECD and local regulations. Support local and global transfer pricing audits and risk assessments. 5. Audit & Risk Management Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Manage tax assessments, audits, litigation, and appeals in coordination with legal counsel and consultants. Identify tax risks and design controls to mitigate exposure. 6. Process Improvement & Automation Drive standardization and automation in tax processes using tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Vertex, Alteryx). Improve efficiency and accuracy of tax calculations, reporting, and compliance workflows. Maintain robust documentation and tax process maps (SOPs, controls, etc.). 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Business teams to ensure tax-compliant operations. Provide tax input for M&A, restructuring, or new market entry projects. Support training and awareness programs for non-tax teams on tax obligations and compliance. 8. Team Leadership (Senior Manager Role) Lead and develop a team of tax professionals and analysts. Set performance objectives, monitor progress, and provide coaching and mentorship. Foster a culture of tax compliance, integrity, and continuous learning.
