Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Senior SEO / AEO Manager with 7–10 years of hands-on enterprise eCommerce experience to lead organic growth across traditional search, AI-powered discovery platforms, and modern answer engines. This is a technical leadership role, not a coordination or advisory position.
The role requires deep execution ownership across:

Technical SEO architecture
Magento / Adobe Commerce SEO implementation
Measurement & tracking infrastructure
AI Search (AEO) visibility
Enterprise migrations and platform governance

You will act as the technical owner of organic growth, ensuring SEO and AEO are embedded into engineering, product, analytics, and marketing initiatives from planning through execution. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong implementation capability and has successfully driven organic revenue growth for large-scale eCommerce businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise SEO & AEO Ownership: Own and lead end-to-end enterprise SEO and AEO strategy across large-scale eCommerce properties, driving organic revenue growth across traditional search, AI Overviews, answer engines, and emerging discovery platforms while establishing scalable SEO governance frameworks.
Technical SEO Leadership: Define, execute, and independently validate advanced technical SEO roadmaps covering crawl and indexing architecture, faceted navigation control, canonical strategy, large catalog optimization, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals execution, and log file diagnostics.
Magento & eCommerce Platform Expertise: Lead hands-on SEO implementation within Magento Open Source / Adobe Commerce environments, providing architectural input across backend configurations, layered navigation, URL structures, indexing systems, and modern commerce setups (headless, composable, SaaS, hybrid).
Migration & Replatforming Ownership: Own SEO governance for migrations, replatforming, and upgrades, including redirect strategy validation, crawl comparison audits, staging verification, tracking continuity, and traffic/revenue risk mitigation.
AEO & AI Search Optimization: Design and scale AI-first visibility strategies using entity-based SEO, structured data ecosystems, semantic content architecture, knowledge graph alignment, and optimization for AI-generated answers beyond traditional FAQ-based tactics.
Analytics, Tracking & Measurement Architecture: Own overall measurement architecture across GA4, GTM, and Looker Studio, including dataLayer validation, event tracking design, attribution modeling, conversion integrity, and collaboration on server-side and privacy-first tracking implementations.
Cross-Channel Growth Collaboration: Embed SEO strategically across paid media, CRO, lifecycle marketing, and product initiatives to ensure unified SERP coverage, funnel alignment, and revenue-driven optimization.
Performance Governance: Define and operationalize business-impact KPIs including organic revenue, assisted conversions, acquisition efficiency, and AI visibility while delivering executive-ready reporting and strategic insights.

Requirements

7–10 years of hands-on SEO experience managing large-scale eCommerce websites, including enterprise environments (50K–100K+ URLs), complex catalogs, or multi-store implementations.
Strong hands-on expertise with Magento Open Source / Adobe Commerce (required), with additional experience in Shopify Plus or WooCommerce considered a plus.
Proven ownership of complex migrations, replatforming, or redesigns without traffic or revenue loss, including redirect governance, crawl comparison audits, staging validation, and post-launch monitoring.
Advanced Technical SEO expertise spanning crawl budget optimization, log file analysis, JavaScript SEO & rendering validation, faceted navigation governance, canonical strategy, indexation control, and Core Web Vitals implementation ownership.
Demonstrated ability to define SEO technical standards, independently validate implementations, and act as a technical authority for releases impacting organic performance.
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or auditing measurement and tracking architectures, including dataLayer design, GA4 event modeling, GTM container governance, attribution frameworks, and conversion tracking validation.
Strong understanding of modern measurement environments, including Consent Mode, privacy-first tracking, and familiarity with server-side tagging concepts.
Demonstrated experience optimizing for AI Search / AEO, including entity-based SEO, structured data ecosystems, semantic search optimization, and AI answer visibility beyond basic FAQ implementations.
Hands-on structured data implementation and validation at scale across enterprise eCommerce environments.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect SEO performance directly to revenue impact, conversion behavior, assisted conversions, and business KPIs.
Experience working directly with engineering and product teams, influencing technical architecture decisions and embedding SEO governance into development workflows.
Ability to independently diagnose complex technical SEO and tracking issues without over-reliance on developers.
Proven technical leadership capability, including setting implementation standards, mentoring team members, and driving scalable SEO governance frameworks.
Advanced proficiency with enterprise SEO & analytics tools, including SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), Looker Studio, and related diagnostic and performance auditing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with headless or composable commerce.
Exposure to server-side tagging or modern measurement architecture.
Experience aligning SEO with lifecycle marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Dotdigital).
Experience in enterprise CRO experimentation programs.
Google Analytics / Measurement certifications.
