Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for performing pulmonary function tests accurately and safely, assisting physicians in respiratory diagnostics, maintaining equipment, and ensuring proper patient care and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) including Spirometry, Lung Volume and Diffusion Capacity tests as per clinical requirements.
Prepare patients, explain test procedures, and ensure proper positioning and cooperation during testing.
Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain PFT equipment as per manufacturer and hospital protocols.
Ensure accurate recording, validation, and documentation of test results for physician interpretation.
Perform pre- and post-bronchodilator testing as instructed by the physician.
Monitor patients during procedures and promptly report any abnormal symptoms or clinical observations.
Follow infection control, patient safety, biomedical waste management, and hospital quality standards.
Maintain daily records, equipment logs, quality-control records, and test reports.
Coordinate with Pulmonologists, Respiratory Therapists, Nurses, and other diagnostic departments.
Ensure confidentiality of patient information and maintain professional patient communication.

Experience

1–3 years of experience in PFT / Pulmonology / Respiratory Diagnostics preferred. Freshers with relevant qualification may also be considered.
