About the Health Insurance Industry –

While the current market sees more than 15 non-life players in the private space and 5 exclusive private players in the health insurance space trying to capture a sizable market share. With the SME and the start-ups being the driving force of Indian economy, the opportunity to cater to these segments is immense and is increasing manifold year on year. The challenge here therefore remains as to how we capture a larger share of the opportunity by developing specific solutions to cater each segment of the business. Also by creating an inexpensive and standardized solution to increase the reach into the pockets of channel partners across the country to harness on their captive business and explore new opportunities with them.

Market Opportunities – With the advent of medical advancements, lifestyle changes, change in Indian socio-economic scenario and Indian healthcare space, and the insurers are facing challenges to cater to the needs of this diverse clientele. In this scenario it becomes extremely important to understand their psyche and then provide tailored solutions with wellness benefits which would help them meet their end objectives and bring in profitable revenue source for the company.

Job Context

Ensuring Fund deployment efficiently and optimised the yield.
Communication with market intermediaries to collect quotes for various debt securities, deal negotiation and execution for the same, and entering the deal details in MIS for fund accounting.
Ensure thorough understanding of credit underwriting principles, micro and macro level economic and market trends and make informed decisions on when and how to invest.
Work with compliance and risk teams to ensure due diligence files, communications and collateral are complete and accurate.
Assist the CIO- Fixed Income in the drafting of comprehensive evaluations of investment funds and presentation to management.

Key Challenges for the role are as follows:

Dynamic economy and its impact on the portfolio performance poses a challenge to anticipate and ensure high probabilities of fund success on long term basis.

Keeping abreast with all macro and micro economic factors impacting financial risk and returns.

Maintaining & ensuring confidentiality on all fund related communication at all times.

4) Principal Accountabilities

Supporting Actions

Credit Analysis- Investment opportunities in credit market

Making the credit note of the investee company, analysis the detail financial aspects. Updating the invested company financials on quarterly basis. Discussing the market participants about market updates/oppurtunities.

Execution of the Deal

Taking quotes from the market and closing the deal as per requirement, Generating Capital gains through buy-sell of securities

Economic analysis

Studying the economic data pertaining to bond market, analyzing the macro data, keeping the track of all the important variables effecting the portfolio.

MIS update

Sending various reports to different stakeholders as and when required, Monitoring limits on continuous basis, Track portfolio on a regular basis and flag off underperforming funds in order to take informed and timely decisions on the further course of action.

Liquidity

Collecting data from different verticals and Project the fund requirement and plan accordingly. Ensure that all the liquidity requirement is met timely.

Maintain and apply a deep understanding of domestic fixed income markets and their structures to support investment team in taking decisions for superior returns in a consistent manner.
