Department: Finance & Accounts
Position: Finance Manager
Industry: FMCG / Food Manufacturing
Experience: 5–10 Years

Location: Okkal, Kalady, Ernakulam

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Finance Manager with 5–10 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, accounting functions, budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of FMCG/manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, cost control, taxation, working capital management, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management

Manage the overall finance and accounting operations of the organization.
Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables, and fund requirements.
Provide accurate financial information and reports to management for decision-making.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved financial efficiency.

2. Accounting & Financial Reporting

Supervise day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Review the Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, cash flow statements, and other management reports.
Ensure proper reconciliation of bank accounts, customer accounts, vendor accounts, and ledger balances.
Monitor accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely collections and payments.

3. FMCG & Manufacturing Finance

Monitor product costing, manufacturing costs, material consumption, wastage, and production variances.
Analyse raw material, packaging material, labour, and overhead costs.
Monitor inventory valuation and stock reconciliation.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Sales, Stores, and Operations teams on financial matters.
Analyse product-wise and business-unit-wise profitability.
Support management in pricing and margin analysis.

4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely compliance with applicable GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements.
Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and statutory authorities when required.
Ensure accurate preparation and filing of statutory returns.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and compliance.

5. Audit & Internal Controls

Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and other financial audits.
Establish and monitor effective financial controls and accounting procedures.
Identify financial risks, control gaps, and potential areas of loss or leakage.
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
Investigate significant financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

6. Management Reporting & Analysis

Prepare MIS reports and financial dashboards for management review.
Provide analysis of sales, expenses, profitability, working capital, and business performance.
Track actual performance against budgets and identify major variances.
Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decisions.

7. Team Management

Lead, supervise, and guide the Finance & Accounts team.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor the performance of accounting staff.
Ensure timely completion of accounting, reporting, and compliance activities.
Train and develop team members on accounting procedures and internal controls.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
CA / CMA / MBA Finance qualification will be an added advantage.
5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG, food processing, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
Practical experience in inventory and manufacturing accounting is highly preferred.

Required Skills

Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
Excellent knowledge of FMCG/manufacturing costing and inventory management.
Good understanding of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and Income Tax compliance.
Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting/ERP software.
Experience with ERP systems such as Tally, SAP, Odoo, or similar platforms will be an advantage.
Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in FMCG / Food Products / Food Processing / Manufacturing will be preferred.
Experience in managing multiple business units, manufacturing plants, warehouses, or branches will be an advantage.
Should have hands-on experience in financial planning, costing, MIS, audit, taxation, and working capital management.
Should be capable of independently managing the Finance & Accounts function and providing strategic financial support to management.
