Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced IDP Software Engineer with strong Full-Stack TypeScript, Node.js and React expertise to build and enhance an enterprise Internal Developer Platform (IDP) using Port.io.
You will work across developer portal engineering, backend integration services, React-based developer experiences and platform automation. The platform will integrate with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, GitHub, Azure, identity platforms and observability tools.
This role is ideal for engineers who think of developer platforms as products with users, focusing not only on technical implementation but also on developer experience, self-service, adoption and reliability.
You will work as part of a distributed engineering team collaborating across Portugal, UK and India.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Developer Platform / Port.io
- Build and maintain enterprise Port.io Internal Developer Platform capabilities.
- Develop Port blueprints, entities, scorecards, self-service actions and RBAC.
- Implement Port.io configuration as code using JSON/YAML.
- Develop reusable and version-controlled platform components.
- Build developer self-service workflows and golden paths.
Full-Stack TypeScript Development
- Develop production-grade TypeScript and Node.js services.
- Build REST APIs, webhooks and event-driven integrations.
- Develop modern React + TypeScript interfaces for developers.
- Build catalogue pages, self-service forms, dashboards, scorecards and custom widgets.
- Work across frontend and backend components based on product and engineering priorities.
Enterprise Integrations
- Build integrations between Port.io and enterprise systems such as:
- ServiceNow – approvals and CMDB
- GitHub
- Azure / Cloud platforms
- Identity and RBAC platforms
- Observability and delivery tooling
- Work with APIs, webhooks and event-driven architectures.
- Build ingestion pipelines to maintain accurate and up-to-date developer catalogues.
Developer Experience & Adoption
- Treat the internal platform as a product, with developers as its users.
- Measure platform adoption and self-service success rates.
- Use developer feedback to continuously improve platform capabilities.
- Help reduce developer friction through automation and self-service workflows.
Engineering Quality & Leadership
- Write clean, maintainable and testable code.
- Implement automated unit and integration testing.
- Follow strong Git, branching and code-review practices.
- Maintain technical documentation and configuration standards.
- For senior engineers: lead design discussions, establish engineering standards and mentor other developers.
Required SkillsMust Have
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong production experience with TypeScript.
- Strong experience with Node.js and backend service development.
- Hands-on experience with React.js / React + TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and event-driven integrations.
- Experience working with JSON/YAML configuration as code.
- Strong Git and code-review practices.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, including:
- Authentication and authorization
- Secrets management
- Least-privilege access
- Dependency security
- API security
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Internal Developer Platform Experience
For senior-level candidates, experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDP), Developer Experience (DevEx) or developer tooling is strongly preferred.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an engineer who can operate beyond traditional Frontend Developer / Node.js Developer responsibilities.
The ideal candidate combines:
Full-Stack TypeScript + Node.js + React + Internal Developer Platforms + Cloud/Azure + API Integrations
You should be comfortable moving between Port.io configuration, backend integration services and React developer experiences, depending on the product backlog.
Most importantly, you should think like a platform product engineer — building reliable self-service capabilities that developers actually want to use.
Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
