Job Description:
The Opportunity:
Master Data Specialist is personally responsible for executing material master cleanup waves across HV Service, active service materials, and other archetypes, with primary focus on EWM physical attribute remediation in Phase 1 and the field-level data quality rulebook across all material views. The role requires deep end-to-end working knowledge of master data — not just material — because every change to a material master ripples into procurement (info records, source lists), sales (MVKE, pricing), warehouse (EWM handling units), and finance (MBEW valuation). The right candidate diagnoses cross-domain impact before executing, runs the mass updates personally, validates the result, and closes the gate.
How you’ll make an impact:
Personally execute Phase 1 EWM physical attribute remediation (dimensions, weight, handling unit data) on active warehouse parts.
Run cleanup waves on HV Service (~17,000 records) and active service materials (~15,000 records) material master's across MARA, MARC, MVKE, MBEW, MARM, MLAN.
Build and operate Process Runner and Precisely Automate Studio templates with archetype-specific rules embedded; manage simulation, error handling, and rollback.
Execute mass updates via MASS, MDG_SW, MM01 / MM02 / MM06; reconcile pre- and post-state via SE16N, MMBE, MB52.
Maintain the Defect Register for material domain; feed coverage %, defect rate, and cycle-time inputs into the KPI Dashboard.
Sign off Exit Gate Checklists at the three Definition of Done levels (minimum / target / aspirational).
Archive obsolete materials via SARA per the program archiving policy.
Hand off sustainment patterns to BAU once a wave clears target DOD.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business
Your background:
8+ years hands-on SAP master data execution, with documented volume — successfully cleared 5,000+ material records in prior cleanup programs.
Working understanding of how master data flows across all six domains (material, customer, vendor, pricing, info records, finance) and how a change in one ripple to the others.
Fluent across MARA, MARC, MVKE, MBEW, MARM, MLAN — including archetype-specific rules for service materials, spares, configurable items, and shop materials.
MM01 / MM02 / MM06, MASS, MDG_SW, SE16N, MMBE, MB52, SARA, SPRO / OMT3B — used daily, not occasionally.
Hands-on with Process Runner, Precisely Automate Studio, or LSMW — template design, simulation, error recovery, rollback procedures.
Energized by high-volume execution. Closes records, not tickets.
Comfortable running working sessions with Engineering, Procurement, and Field Service SMEs to resolve ambiguous records.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions.
