We are seeking a passionate, creative, and proficient PRT English Teacher who can inspire young learners to develop strong communication, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through engaging and child-centered teaching practices.
Position Summary
The Primary English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students of Classes I to V in accordance with CBSE curriculum guidelines and NEP 2020 recommendations. The teacher will foster language proficiency, creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication skills through innovative and experiential learning methodologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to Classes I to V.
- Prepare annual academic plans, lesson plans, teaching schedules, and learning resources.
- Develop foundational language skills including reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Implement activity-based, experiential, and competency-based learning approaches.
- Encourage creative writing, storytelling, public speaking, role play, and reading habits.
- Use phonics and language enrichment strategies where applicable.
- Integrate digital learning tools and multimedia resources into classroom instruction.
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Reading & Language Development
- Develop students’ reading fluency and comprehension skills.
- Encourage regular library usage and reading programs.
- Conduct storytelling sessions, book reviews, reading challenges, and literary activities.
- Foster appreciation for literature, poetry, and language.
- Promote correct pronunciation, diction, and spoken English skills.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare worksheets, assignments, projects, and competency-based evaluations.
- Assess reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills.
- Maintain accurate academic records and student portfolios.
- Analyze learning outcomes and implement remedial strategies where required.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Maintain discipline through positive reinforcement and engagement.
- Encourage active participation, collaboration, and self-expression.
- Promote respect, empathy, confidence, and effective communication.
- Ensure student safety and well-being during classroom activities.
Student Development
- Identify and nurture students’ linguistic talents and creative abilities.
- Prepare students for elocution competitions, debates, recitations, spell bees, creative writing contests, and literary events.
- Build confidence in public speaking and interpersonal communication.
- Support students requiring additional assistance in language acquisition and communication skills.
- Foster critical thinking and creativity through language-based activities.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide suggestions for language development and reading habits at home.
- Share academic performance and intervention plans where necessary.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, celebrations, literary events, and school functions.
- Organize English Week, Reading Week, Literary Festivals, and language enrichment activities.
- Assist in preparing students for inter-school competitions and academic events.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning initiatives.
- Perform examination and administrative duties assigned by the school.
Professional Development
- Stay updated with CBSE curriculum reforms and NEP 2020 guidelines.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, training programs, and faculty development initiatives.

QualificationsEssential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Literature, Humanities, or related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTET qualified.
- Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum and competency-based education.
- Certification in Phonics, Early Literacy, Language Development, or Educational Technology will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school.
- Experience teaching English at the Primary Level is preferred.
- Freshers with excellent English communication skills and strong academic credentials may also apply.
