Job Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for defining and executing the company’s financial strategy. This role requires a visionary leader with deep financial expertise and a strong business acumen to drive growth, optimize financial performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health of the company, advising the CEO and Board of Directors, and leading a high-performing finance team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Provide leadership in financial planning, risk management, and capital allocation to support the company’s growth trajectory.
- Oversee the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, Balance Sheets (BS), Cash Flow, and Cost Sheets to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Ensure robust and efficient financial record-keeping, leveraging Tally and other relevant accounting software for precision and efficiency.
- Lead and oversee financial audits, ensuring strict adherence to financial regulations, industry standards, and corporate governance.
- Play a strategic role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing insights to optimize financial planning and operational efficiency.
- Spearhead initiatives related to Initial Public Offerings (IPO) and Forex operations, positioning the company for sustained financial success.
- Lead and mentor the finance, commercial, and administrative teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage the filing and compliance of all statutory returns, including GST, Income Tax, TDS, EPF, ESI, and other financial obligations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, government departments, investors, and key stakeholders to enhance financial stability.
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems, leveraging technology for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and global financial reporting standards, including ForEx and international trade laws.
- Manage corporate treasury functions, including cash-flow optimization, strategic investments, and financial risk mitigation to maximize financial resilience.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other high-impact financial initiatives.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board, contributing to key business decisions and long-term growth planning.
Work Experience Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), MBA in Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
- 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research industry.
- Extensive expertise in financial strategy, corporate finance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Proven track record of successfully handling IPO processes, Forex operations, and treasury management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in leading large finance teams and driving performance through mentorship and strategic direction.
- Proficiency in SAP,ERP systems, and financial analytics tools.
- Ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and drive sustainable profitability.
- Willingness to travel as required for business operations.
