Assistant Manager – AI/ML

Location: Mohali, Punjab

Department: Information Technology & Audit

Position Overview

Chandigarh University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager – AI/ML to drive the development, implementation, and optimization of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions across academic, administrative, and business functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in AI/ML technologies, data analytics, model deployment, and team collaboration to support innovation and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models for real-world business and academic applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI-driven opportunities and deliver scalable solutions.
Develop predictive models, recommendation systems, NLP applications, and automation frameworks.
Manage end-to-end AI/ML project lifecycles, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
Implement Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Chatbots, and Intelligent Automation solutions.
Work closely with Data Engineers, Software Developers, and Business Teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and ethical AI standards.
Stay updated with emerging AI technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and stakeholder presentations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Technology, or related discipline.
5–8 years of experience in AI/ML development, data science, or related fields.
Strong understanding of Machine Learning algorithms, Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, and Generative AI.
Hands-on experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, and related AI frameworks.
Experience with LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG Architecture, AI Agents, and OpenAI/Anthropic/Gemini APIs.
Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, data pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience in model deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, MLOps, and CI/CD practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in Higher Education, EdTech, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise AI implementations.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and advanced data visualization tools.
Exposure to AI governance, responsible AI practices, and model explainability.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
