System Test Engineer / Senior System Test Engineer – Electric Vehicle

Job Summary

We are looking for a System Test Engineer / Senior System Test Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in Electric Vehicle system testing and validation.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end system validation of Inverter, eDrive, eAxle, and High Voltage Battery Box (HVBB) systems, including test design, execution, automation, result analysis, and defect resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Test Design

Analyze customer, system, and functional requirements.
Derive detailed system test specifications and test cases.
Maintain requirement-to-test-case traceability.
Identify test coverage gaps and improve validation coverage.
Support ASPICE SYS.4 and SYS.5 verification activities.

System Testing & Validation

Execute manual and automated tests for Inverter, eDrive, eAxle, and HVBB systems.
Perform FST, ECUMST, and RST activities.
Execute testing in HV/LV laboratory and real-time test bench environments.
Perform functional, performance, safety, robustness, and fault-injection testing.
Support customer validation and qualification activities.

Test Analysis & Automation

Analyze test results, logs, and deviations.
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and support issue resolution.
Manage defects and maintain accurate test reports.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks.
Improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort.

Lab & Debugging

Troubleshoot issues related to:
HV Test Benches
Power Electronics
Microcontrollers
Embedded Software
Communication Networks
Support setup and commissioning of HV validation environments.
Perform debugging using measurement and calibration tools.
Collaborate with global development, validation, and system engineering teams.

Mandatory Skills

2–5 years of experience in System Testing / Embedded Testing / Automotive Validation.
Strong knowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) architecture.
Experience with one or more of:
Inverter
eDrive
eAxle
HV Battery Box (HVBB)
Electric Machines
Experience in Requirement Analysis, Test Case Design, Test Execution and Test Result Analysis.
Good knowledge of Defect Management and Test Reporting.
Experience with FST / ECUMST / RST.
Knowledge of ASPICE SYS.4 / SYS.5.
Hands-on experience with CANoe and ECU-TEST.
Knowledge of CAN / CAN-FD communication.
Experience with HiL / SiL or real-time test bench environments.

Tools & Technologies

Testing & Validation:
FST, ECUMST, RST, SYS.4, SYS.5, HiL, SiL

Tools:
IBM DOORS, RQM, ALM, CANoe, ECU-TEST, INCA, ASCET, LABCAR, dSPACE, ETAS

Automation:
Python, CAPL

Engineering:
MATLAB / Simulink, Model-Based Development

Automotive Standards

Automotive SPICE – SYS.4 / SYS.5
ISO 26262 – Functional Safety
LV123 / LV124
VW80000 / VW80000x

Good to Have

Experience in HV Validation Labs.
eDrive / eAxle system testing experience.
Power Electronics validation experience.
Functional Safety verification experience.
Model-Based Development (MBD).
MATLAB / Simulink.
CAPL / Python automation.
Software architecture understanding.
MBSE exposure.

Education

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Electrical Engineering.
M.E./M.Tech in Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, EV Technology, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, or Automotive Engineering will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in EV System Testing + Inverter/eDrive/eAxle + HIL/SiL + CANoe + ECU-TEST + Python/CAPL + ASPICE SYS.4/SYS.5 will be preferred.
