Regional Sales Manager – Unsecured Lending

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Regional Sales Manager – Unsecured Vertical to drive business growth and manage sales operations across the assigned region. The ideal candidate will lead a high-performing sales team, develop strategic channel partnerships, build a strong customer pipeline, and ensure achievement of business, revenue, and profitability targets across the unsecured lending portfolio.

This role requires strong leadership, business development expertise, and a deep understanding of unsecured lending products, customer acquisition, and channel management.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Business Growth

Drive business growth across the assigned region by achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual disbursement, revenue, and profitability targets.
Develop and expand business for Personal Loans, Business Loans, Professional Loans, and other unsecured or collateral-free credit products.
Identify new market opportunities and implement strategies to increase regional market penetration and business volumes.

Sales Team Leadership

Recruit, train, mentor, and manage Relationship Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Executives.
Set clear individual and team targets and ensure consistent achievement of sales KPIs.
Build strong product knowledge and sales capabilities across the unsecured loan portfolio.
Conduct regular performance reviews, team meetings, coaching sessions, and field reviews.

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

Drive identification, prospecting, and onboarding of new clients across the assigned region.
Utilize tele-calling, digital leads, referrals, self-sourcing, and other acquisition channels to generate quality business.
Ensure the team maintains a healthy and consistent lead pipeline.
Strengthen customer relationships to improve acquisition, retention, repeat business, and referrals.

Channel Partner Development

Build, expand, and strengthen relationships with DSAs, brokers, connectors, financial consultants, and strategic channel partners.
Develop new channel partnerships to generate sustainable business in the unsecured lending segment.
Monitor partner productivity and ensure regular engagement and business contribution.

Customer Profiling & Cross-Selling

Ensure the sales team conducts needs-based financial profiling of customers.
Guide the team in recommending suitable unsecured credit solutions based on customer requirements and eligibility.
Increase wallet share through cross-selling, repeat business, and referral opportunities.

Sales Planning & Execution

Prepare and execute regional sales plans aligned with company objectives.
Develop market penetration strategies and business development initiatives for the assigned region.
Plan and execute promotional campaigns and local market activities to generate business.
Identify market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities and take appropriate corrective actions.

Pipeline & Performance Management

Monitor lead generation, application login volumes, conversion ratios, login-to-disbursement ratios, and overall sales pipeline.
Track individual and team performance against weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
Ensure timely achievement of regional business targets.

Operational Excellence

Ensure smooth end-to-end loan processing, including documentation, eligibility assessment, application login, and submission.
Coordinate effectively with Credit, Operations, Legal, Technical, Banking, and other internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
Monitor application status and turnaround time (TAT) to minimize delays.
Ensure a high-quality customer experience throughout the loan journey.

Partner Relationship Management

Maintain strong working relationships with Banks, NBFCs, Fintech partners, DSAs, and other business partners.
Explore and maximize business opportunities through strategic partnerships.
Resolve partner and customer escalations promptly and ensure effective service delivery.
Develop long-term relationships with key partners to support sustainable regional growth.

Reporting, CRM & Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely updating of all customer interactions, leads, applications, and business status in the CRM.
Monitor team activity reports and ensure timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
Ensure adherence to company policies, sales processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
Participate in product training, business reviews, performance meetings, and other organizational initiatives.
Maintain high standards of ethical sales practices and ensure accurate customer communication.

Graduate/MBA in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in sales/business development, preferably in Fintech, NBFC, Banking, or Financial Services.
Prior experience in managing regional sales teams and channel partners.
Experience in Personal Loans, Business Loans, Professional Loans, or other unsecured lending products will be preferred.
Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
