AI Product Manager – Agency Experience Required
Job Title: AI Product Manager
Experience: 5+ Years
Location: Remote
Shift: U.S. Central Time (CST)
Employment Type: Contract / C2C
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced AI Product Manager with strong agency or consulting experience to own client engagements end-to-end — from discovery and scoping through delivery and product launch.
The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple client engagements and should be comfortable with AI agents, agentic product development, greenfield product builds, legacy platform modernization, and AI-native enablement.
This role sits between clients and agentic engineering teams, translating ambiguous business problems into clear, scoped, sequenced, and shippable product requirements.
This is not a traditional roadmap-only Product Manager role and is not limited to AI-agent products. The role requires someone who can manage different types of client engagements and confidently navigate scope, feasibility, timelines, budgets, and technical trade-offs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own client engagements end-to-end, from discovery and scoping through delivery.
- Act as the primary product contact for clients and provide strong product leadership throughout engagements.
- Scope and manage zero-to-one greenfield product builds using AI-native and agentic approaches.
- Lead legacy platform rebuild and modernization initiatives while balancing technical debt, business continuity, and delivery speed.
- Design and support AI-native enablement programs that help client product and engineering teams adopt agentic development practices.
- Translate ambiguous client requirements into:
- PRDs
- Product roadmaps
- Success criteria
- Prioritized backlogs
- Sequenced delivery plans
- Partner closely with AI/agentic engineers to determine when an agentic approach is appropriate versus a deterministic workflow.
- Define appropriate AI agent guardrails, evaluation criteria, and success metrics before production deployment.
- Manage multiple concurrent client engagements with competing timelines, budgets, and priorities.
- Lead client steering committees, sprint reviews, product discussions, and scope negotiations.
- Communicate project outcomes, business impact, and ROI, rather than focusing only on delivery output.
- Contribute to internal product and AI playbooks covering:
- Agentic product development
- Greenfield product builds
- Platform modernization
- Client enablement
- AI-native development practices
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Product Management experience with ownership of product scope, roadmap, and delivery outcomes.
- Mandatory agency or consulting experience with multiple clients/accounts.
- Proven ability to manage client expectations, scope, timelines, budgets, and priorities.
- Experience in at least two of the following:
- Zero-to-one / greenfield product development
- Legacy platform rebuild or migration
- Client-facing technical enablement or training
- Hands-on experience with AI agents / agentic workflows.
- Experience scoping, building, or shipping agentic products or workflows, beyond basic chatbot prompting.
- Understanding of the trade-offs between agentic and deterministic approaches.
- Ability to work effectively with AI/agentic engineering teams.
- Comfortable discussing AI architecture, evaluation, guardrails, and technical feasibility.
- Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with VP-level and senior stakeholders.
- Strong scoping, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
- Strong ability to turn vague business requirements into clear, actionable product plans.
Agency / Consulting Experience – Mandatory
Candidates must have experience working in an agency or consulting environment where they have:
- Managed multiple clients or accounts.
- Worked directly with external clients.
- Managed changing requirements and expectations.
- Protected project scope and negotiated trade-offs.
- Managed competing client priorities.
- Presented to senior client stakeholders.
- Owned delivery outcomes across different engagements.
Candidates with only single-product SaaS/in-house Product Management experience may not be suitable.

The ideal candidate should understand:
- AI agents and agentic workflows
- Agent vs. deterministic workflow selection
