Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic QA Analyst Intern to join our Quality Assurance team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing, quality assurance processes, API testing, automation testing, database validation, and Agile development methodologies. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in software quality, excellent analytical skills, and a willingness to learn modern QA tools and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business and functional requirements to assist in creating test cases, test scenarios, and test documentation.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) under guidance.
- Identify, document, and report software defects using defect tracking tools.
- Assist in REST API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
- Validate API requests and responses, including HTTP methods, status codes, authentication, and JSON payloads.
- Learn and contribute to automation testing using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Perform database validation by executing SQL queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Use JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to track testing activities and defects.
- Support testing activities within Git-based version control and CI/CD environments.
- Perform browser-based debugging using developer tools.
- Continuously learn QA best practices and contribute to improving software quality.
Required SkillsManual Testing
- Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Knowledge of software testing concepts including functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Ability to create test cases and document test results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
API Testing
- Basic understanding of REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, or similar API testing tools is preferred.
- Understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, authentication, and JSON format.
Automation Testing
- Basic knowledge of Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
- Interest in learning automation scripting and test frameworks.
Database Testing
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of database tables, relationships, and data validation.
Tools & Technologies
- Basic knowledge of JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar project management tools.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Knowledge of browser developer tools is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of web technologies such as React.js, Next.js, or Node.js.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6 is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of web security concepts.
- Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud platforms is a plus.
- Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
- Interest in mobile application testing.
AI Skills (Good to Have)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools.
- Interest in using AI tools for generating test cases and improving testing efficiency.
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering.
- Exposure to testing AI-powered applications such as chatbots, OCR, or document processing systems is an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree (completed or currently pursuing final year) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
