Company: Our client a leading IT services and consulting organization specializing in delivering innovative technology solutions to enterprises, government organizations, and global clients. With expertise across digital transformation, application development, cloud services, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, data analytics, and enterprise platforms, we help businesses accelerate growth and improve operational efficiency.

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Delivery Head to lead large-scale technology delivery engagements for Indian Public Sector clients. The role involves managing end-to-end project delivery, stakeholder engagement, governance, operational excellence, and team leadership across multiple programs and accounts.

The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in handling Government/Public Sector projects, managing large delivery teams, ensuring SLA/KPI compliance, and driving digital transformation initiatives aligned with client expectations and regulatory standards.

Delivery Management

Lead end-to-end delivery of large IT programs and managed services for Public Sector/Government clients.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
Drive delivery governance, quality assurance, risk management, and operational excellence across engagements.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders in Government/Public Sector organizations.
Act as the primary escalation point for delivery and operational issues.
Participate in client reviews, governance meetings, and strategic discussions.
Understand client business priorities and align delivery strategies accordingly.

Program & Team Leadership

Lead large cross-functional delivery teams including project managers, technical architects, support teams, and vendors.
Mentor and guide delivery managers and project teams to ensure high performance and collaboration.
Drive resource planning, workforce optimization, and capability development.

Operational Excellence

Implement best practices in project management, ITSM, and service delivery.
Ensure adherence to compliance, security, audit, and regulatory requirements applicable to Government projects.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and process optimization.

Preferred candidate profile

Proven leadership experience in running large Public Sector portfolios in India.
Strong experience in managing complex turnkey IT programs and transformation initiatives.
Prior experience working in a System Integrator (SI) organization is mandatory.
Strong understanding of commercial management, contract governance, and portfolio financials.
Ability to engage and influence senior Government stakeholders and bureaucrats.
Demonstrated success in managing large teams of 700 to 1500 FTEs.
Experience handling portfolio revenues of at least USD 50 Million.
Strong program governance, risk management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategy
