The Team You’ll Join
You will join the Data Engineering and Data Strategy team, which is building the next generation enterprise data and analytics platform in a highly secure cloud environment. The team designs and delivers data pipelines, transformations, data models, shared data products, and analytics foundations that support platform users and enterprise stakeholders.
The team works on bringing Platforms into a medallion architecture; modernizing ingestion and transformation patterns; establishing a canonical Common Data Model and semantic foundation; and strengthening governance, data quality, monitoring, and cross-team delivery practices.
How You’ll Contribute
In this implementation-focused role, you will design, build, test, troubleshoot, and optimize reliable data solutions. You will collaborate with data, analytics, platform, and business stakeholders to reproduce trusted reporting capabilities while advancing reusable enterprise standards.
- Deliver end-to-end data and analytics capabilities, including data modeling, ingestion, transformation, orchestration, testing, and production support.
- Develop scalable, secure, observable, and fault-tolerant workflows using SQL, Python, PySpark, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Spark, and AWS services.
- Build and maintain Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer transformations aligned with medallion architecture and enterprise star-schema standards.
- Support onboarding and integration of strategic platforms using reusable integration patterns.
- Create source-to-enterprise mappings and contribute to canonical data models, semantic definitions, and reusable Gold-layer data products.
- Reproduce and validate existing extracts, reports, and datasets by reconciling new platform outputs against current production outputs.
- Implement automated data quality controls, monitoring, alerting, scorecards, and reusable testing libraries across data platform layers.
- Analyze source systems, client data, and business requirements to determine solution feasibility and translate needs into maintainable technical designs.
- Document issues, designs, lineage, solutions, findings, and recommendations clearly for internal and external stakeholders.
- Use AI-assisted engineering capabilities responsibly to build, debug, test, improve productivity, and accelerate delivery while maintaining review and quality standards.
What You’ll Need to Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on data engineering experience using advanced SQL and Python; experience with PySpark or Spark for distributed data processing.
- Experience designing and operating ETL or ELT pipelines, dimensional data models, and production-grade data workflows.
- Practical experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and AWS data services in a cloud-based data platform environment.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and deployment practices using GitLab, AWS CodeCommit, or comparable tools.
- Ability to gather and interpret business requirements, collaborate across remote teams, and deliver effectively using Agile methods and Jira or similar tools.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Snowflake data sharing, Fivetran, Kafka, Estuary, AtScale, or comparable integration and semantic-layer technologies.
- Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, or graph databases and exposure to business intelligence or machine learning libraries.
- Experience implementing canonical data models, enterprise semantic layers, star schemas, or master data and entity matching patterns.
- Experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, Athena, Batch, Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, EC2, CloudFormation, and IAM.
- Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata, lineage, data classification, privacy, retention, and data-sharing controls.
- Experience with automated reconciliation, data quality scorecards, operational dashboards, and tools such as Soda or Elementary.
- A relevant master’s degree or AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or Data Analytics certification.
