Job Title: State Head

Product: Unsecured Business Loans

Location: Chennai

Experience: 6–8 years

Industry: NBFC

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and high-energy State Head to lead and scale our NBFC sales

business for small ticket Unsecured Business Loans across the state.

The incumbent will be responsible for driving the overall business strategy, revenue, disbursement,

portfolio quality, and distribution expansion across Tamil Nadu. The role will involve managing a

strong sales team across major cities and emerging markets.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the Tamil Nadu lending market, excellent

relationships within the NBFC/banking ecosystem, and a proven track record of building and scaling

unsecured business loan portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

State Business Leadership

Own the P&L / business performance for the Unsecured Business Loan segment across

Tamil Nadu.

Develop and execute the state-level sales strategy in line with overall business objectives.
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for disbursement, AUM, revenue, and

customer acquisition.

Identify high-potential markets, customer segments, and new business opportunities across

Tamil Nadu.

Develop a scalable channel acquisition strategy to increase business volumes.
Ensure healthy sourcing volumes while maintaining credit quality and portfolio performance.
Build long-term strategic relationships with key partners and ensure strong market

positioning.

Team Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the state sales team comprising Regional/Area Sales Managers,

Branch/Cluster Managers, Sales Managers, Relationship Managers, and Channel Managers.

Define territory-wise targets and ensure effective deployment of sales resources.
Conduct regular performance reviews and develop action plans for underperforming

teams/markets.

Recruit and retain high-quality sales talent as the business expands.
Build a performance-driven and customer-focused sales culture.
Ensure field teams have adequate market coverage and partner engagement.

Business Growth & Market Expansion

Identify new geographies and customer segments suitable for unsecured business lending.
Expand distribution through branches, direct sales and strategic partnerships.
Analyse competitor offerings, pricing, credit policies, turnaround times, and market practices.
Provide regular market intelligence and recommendations to the senior management team.
Develop localized sales strategies based on the Tamil Nadu market and customer behaviour.

Credit & Portfolio Quality

Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, Collections, Product, and Finance teams to

ensure sustainable business growth.

Maintain a strong balance between business growth, approval rates, and portfolio quality.
Ensure sourcing teams understand product eligibility, credit policy, documentation, and

underwriting requirements.

Monitor early delinquency and portfolio trends and take corrective action with relevant

teams.

Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sales practices.

Core Competencies:

Strong leadership and people-management skills
Excellent understanding of Tamil Nadu lending markets
Proven ability to scale unsecured loan businesses
Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills
Strong understanding of sales processes and funnel management
High ownership, execution capability, and entrepreneurial mindset
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Education:

Graduate degree is mandatory.
MBA / PGDM in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management will be preferred.

Experience:

6–8 years of overall experience in banking, NBFC or financial services.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience managing a state / large sales function.
Strong experience in Unsecured Business Loans / MSME Loans / Business Loans / SME

Lending will be preferred.

Proven experience managing large sales teams and channel/DSA networks.
Candidates with strong relationships across the Tamil Nadu NBFC / DSA ecosystem will

have an advantage.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
