About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and technically capable SEO Executive with 2-5 years of practical experience.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of traditional SEO, Local SEO, ecommerce SEO and the latest developments in AI-driven search.
The role will involve improving website rankings, local business visibility, ecommerce product visibility and brand discoverability across Google, Bing and AI search platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
The candidate should be willing to continuously learn, test new strategies and stay updated with changes across search engines and AI platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesSEO
- Conduct technical, on-page and off-page SEO audits.
- Perform keyword research and search-intent analysis.
- Optimise website pages, titles, meta descriptions, headings, content and internal linking.
- Identify and resolve crawling, indexing, sitemap, canonical and robots.txt issues.
- Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, leads and conversions.
- Coordinate with developers, content writers and designers for SEO implementation.
- Keep track of Google algorithm updates and search-industry developments.
- Support SEO for WordPress, Shopify and other CMS platforms.
AI Search, AEO and GEO
- Understand and apply Answer Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation practices.
- Improve website content for Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT Search, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
- Create and optimise question-based, conversational and answer-focused content.
- Support entity-based SEO, semantic SEO, topic clusters and topical authority.
- Improve content structure so that information is easier for search engines and AI platforms to understand.
- Support schema markup and structured-data implementation.
- Review AI crawler accessibility, including robots.txt settings.
- Monitor AI referral traffic, brand mentions and AI-generated citations where possible.
- Understand that AI recommendations cannot be guaranteed and focus on improving authority, relevance and discoverability.
Google Business Profile and Local SEO
- Create, verify and optimise Google Business Profiles.
- Optimise categories, services, products, descriptions, images and business information.
- Conduct local keyword and competitor research.
- Improve visibility in Google Maps and Local Pack results.
- Maintain NAP consistency across directories.
- Develop review-generation and review-response strategies.
- Optimise local landing pages and location-based content.
- Identify duplicate, suspended or incorrectly configured listings.
- Track GBP calls, website visits, direction requests and local rankings.
- Use local rank-tracking or geo-grid tools where required.
Bing Places and Microsoft Search
- Create, claim and optimise Bing Places for Business listings.
- Import and synchronise business details from Google Business Profile.
- Work with Bing Webmaster Tools.
- Submit URLs and monitor website indexing on Bing.
- Understand basic IndexNow implementation.
- Improve brand visibility across Bing and Microsoft Copilot.
Google Merchant Center
- Set up and manage Google Merchant Center accounts.
- Verify and claim websites.
- Manage product feeds and ecommerce integrations.
- Optimise product titles, descriptions, images and categories.
- Work with GTIN, MPN, brand and other product identifiers.
- Monitor product approvals, warnings and disapprovals.
- Resolve feed, pricing, availability and policy-related issues.
- Ensure consistency between product feeds and landing pages.
- Configure shipping, returns and business information.
- Support free product listings and organic shopping visibility.
- Understand product schema and ecommerce SEO fundamentals.
Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor performance through Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
- Work with Google Tag Manager, Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Merchant Center.
- Prepare weekly and monthly SEO reports.
- Report on keyword rankings, traffic, conversions, local visibility and completed work.
- Identify performance issues and recommend clear next steps.
- Create reports using Looker Studio where required.
Required Skills
- 2-5 years of practical SEO experience.
- Strong knowledge of on-page and technical SEO.
- Experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
- Practical understanding of Google Business Profile optimisation.
- Awareness of AI Search, AEO and GEO.
- Working knowledge of Bing Places for Business.
- Basic or intermediate knowledge of Google Merchant Center.
- Understanding of keyword research and search intent.
- Familiarity with WordPress or Shopify.
- Good written English and content-optimisation skills.
- Ability to analyse data and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to stay updated with search and AI industry changes.
Preferred Skills
- Ecommerce SEO experience.
- Shopify and WooCommerce knowledge.
- Schema markup and structured data.
- Local SEO and citation-building experience.
- Experience with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Google Shopping or Performance Max campaigns.
- Looker Studio reporting.
- Basic understanding of conversion rate optimisation.
- Experience working with international clients.
