We are growing our international business with sales engineers who can own the full export cycle — turning overseas enquiries into confirmed orders and servicing customers, distributors and agents across global territories.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Engineer — Export Management owns the international sales cycle for Darshana — converting overseas enquiries into confirmed orders and servicing export customers, distributors and agents across assigned territories.
The role manages the complete enquiry-to-dispatch chain — technical clarification, costing and quotation, order booking, export documentation, INCOTERMS and payment terms, logistics coordination and post-shipment follow-up — so that export revenue targets are met with full statutory and customer compliance. It reports to the Manager — Business Development.
What you will be doing
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the complete enquiry-to-order cycle for export customers — technical clarification, costing inputs, quotation, negotiation and order booking — converting overseas enquiries into profitable business, measured by quotation turnaround, order conversion and export revenue against target.
Develop and service overseas distributors, agents and OEM accounts through structured follow-up, virtual meetings and market visits to grow the export order book in assigned territories, measured by active accounts, repeat order value and territory growth.
Coordinate export documentation and compliance — proforma and commercial invoices, packing lists, certificate of origin, LC / payment terms, INCOTERMS and DGFT and customs formalities — so every shipment clears without delay, measured by nil documentation rejections and on-time dispatch.
Liaise with Production, Quality, Purchase, freight forwarders and CHA to plan shipments, packaging and freight so committed delivery dates are honored, measured by on-time-in-full delivery and freight cost per shipment.
Analyze international markets, competition and product fit, and plan market-entry activity including trade fairs and exhibitions to build a qualified export pipeline, measured by new qualified leads and new countries or customers added.
Report export MIS — order book, dispatch status, receivables, forecast and customer feedback — to management so decisions on capacity, pricing and credit are well informed, measured by reporting accuracy and control of overdue receivables.
About you
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical, Production or Automobile) or Diploma in Engineering.
3–6 years of export sales experience in engineering, auto components or a similar manufacturing industry.
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with hands-on ERP / CRM usage.
Fluency in English with strong email and proposal-writing skills.
Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally.
PREFERRED SKILLS
MBA in International Business / Marketing.
A foreign language — Spanish, German or French.
Strong negotiating and commercial acumen — protecting margin and cash flow while understanding landed cost, freight and currency implications.
Ability to build durable relationships with overseas customers, distributors and agents across time zones and cultures.
