Your tasks and responsibilities:
As a Senior User Research & Usability Professional , you will play a key role in shaping end-to-end healthcare experiences across digital solutions, products, and platforms, helping healthcare professionals work more efficiently and effectively.
In this role, you will be responsible for working across all stages of UX research and usability evaluation: identifying, planning, driving, conducting, analysing, and reporting research insights, while building an in depth understanding of users within the context of the business and product portfolio.

Work closely with cross functional teams (UX, Product, Engineering, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, and Business) to identify and evaluate research topics and clearly communicate research findings that increase empathy, inform decisions, and meet product evaluation criteria for usability, safety, and effectiveness.

Conduct UX research and usability evaluation activities to inform requirements, evaluate concepts, and assess the usefulness and usability of products and services at formative and summative stages.

Create and execute usability evaluation plans in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards, aligning usability activities with project and business objectives.

Apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., generative research, task based usability testing, surveys, benchmarking) to understand and validate user needs, balancing business, technical, and regulatory requirements, and conducting research both in person and remotely.

Contribute to risk management oriented usability evaluation, including identifying use related risks and supporting mitigation strategies, to help ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsible for producing clear, audit ready usability documentation, including research plans, protocols, study reports, and traceability of findings to design decisions and risk controls.

Represent user needs throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring user insights are reflected in product direction and strategic decision-making.

Contribute to a strong UX culture by championing design quality, fostering collaboration, and driving the continuous improvement of healthcare experiences across our global design organization.
Your qualifications and experience
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Social Sciences, HCI, Computer Science, Usability Engineering, or a related field focused on human behavior.

7+ years of professional experience in UX research and usability evaluation/engineering. Experience in the medical technology or healthcare domain is strongly preferred.

Proven expertise in Usability Evaluation and a thorough understanding of IEC standards (e.g., IEC 62366) and human factors principles.

Hands-on experience with medical device development, FDA clearance/approval processes, and/or regulated product documentation. Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct, and formally document formative and summative usability studies

Proven experience collaborating with product, design, engineering, and regulatory teams to translate research findings into product requirements, design improvements, and usability risk mitigations.
