Position: Hotel Operations Manager
Department: Hotel Operations
Reports To: General Manager / Hotel Manager
Location: Tirunelveli / Courtallam
Industry: Hospitality

Job Purpose

To oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth coordination between departments, excellent guest service, operational efficiency, employee performance, and compliance with hotel standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities1. Hotel Operations

Manage and supervise daily hotel operations.
Ensure smooth coordination between Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Maintenance, Security, and other departments.
Monitor operational standards and ensure SOPs are followed.
Conduct regular inspections of guest areas and operational areas.
Identify operational issues and take timely corrective action.

2. Guest Experience

Ensure high standards of guest service and satisfaction.
Handle guest complaints, feedback, and escalations professionally.
Monitor online reviews and service-related feedback.
Ensure guest requests are addressed promptly.

3. Team Management

Supervise HODs and operational staff.
Conduct regular departmental meetings and operational briefings.
Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
Support training and development of employees.
Coordinate with HR regarding recruitment, manpower requirements, employee performance, and disciplinary matters.

4. Revenue & Cost Control

Monitor departmental expenses and operational costs.
Control wastage and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Coordinate with Finance regarding daily operational reports and revenue-related matters.
Support management in achieving business and profitability targets.

5. Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with hotel policies, statutory requirements, safety standards, and hygiene regulations.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and service standards throughout the property.
Ensure proper documentation and operational records are maintained.
Conduct regular checks to identify risks and areas for improvement.

6. Coordination & Reporting

Conduct daily operational reviews with HODs.
Review occupancy, guest feedback, manpower, maintenance, F&B, housekeeping, and other operational matters.
Prepare and submit regular operational reports to the General Manager/Management.
Coordinate with management for events, VIP guests, group bookings, and special functions.

Knowledge of hotel SOPs and service standards
Cost-control and operational planning skills
Decision-making and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple departments
Good knowledge of MS Office and hotel management/PMS systems

Qualification & Experience

Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Relevant experience in hotel operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience managing multiple hotel departments will be an advantage.
