Full job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, and banking operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in GST, TDS, advance tax, and financial reporting, along with hands-on experience in Tally and Zoho Books.

Mandatory Requirement: Candidate must have prior experience working in a CA (Chartered Accountant) office, handling multiple clients’ accounting, GST filings, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records
Handle accounts payable, receivable, journal entries, and ledgers
Perform Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) regularly
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Finalize Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements

2. GST Compliance

Prepare and file GST returns:
GSTR-1 (Monthly/Quarterly)
GSTR-3B
QRMP Scheme returns
GSTR-9 & GSTR-9C (Annual Returns)
Perform GST reconciliation (2A/2B vs books) and resolve mismatches
Handle GST amendments, corrections, and revisions
Manage GST registrations, updates, and address changes
Ensure compliance with GST laws and timelines

3. TDS Compliance

Deduct, calculate, and file quarterly TDS returns
Ensure timely TDS payments
Handle reconciliation and issue Form 16 / 16A
Manage revised returns and corrections

4. Banking & Cash Flow Management

Manage daily banking transactions and accounting entries
Perform regular bank reconciliations (BRS)
Monitor cash flow, fund movement, and bank balances
Handle online transactions (NEFT, RTGS, IMPS)
Coordinate with banks for issue resolution and documentation

5. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Prepare and manage Advance Tax calculations and workings
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Support internal and statutory audits
Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance

6. Software & Systems

Work extensively on:
Tally ERP / Tally Prime
Zoho Books
Maintain accurate accounting records and generate financial reports

7. Reporting & Financial Analysis

Prepare:
Balance Sheet (BS)
MIS Reports
Financial analysis reports
Monitor financial performance and cash flow
Identify discrepancies, risks, and improvement areas

8. Client Handling & Coordination

Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
Ensure timely delivery of all accounting and compliance tasks
Coordinate with clients for data, clarifications, and updates
Maintain proper documentation and records

Technical Skills (Must Have)Advanced Excel Expertise (Mandatory)

Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel with all formulas and data analysis tools
Expertise in:
Pivot Tables & Pivot Charts
Lookup Functions: VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP
Logical Functions: IF, Nested IF, IFS
Text Functions: LEFT, RIGHT, MID, LEN, TRIM, CONCAT
Date Functions: TODAY, NOW, EDATE, DATEDIF
Financial Functions: PMT, NPV, IRR (basic level)
Data Validation & Conditional Formatting
Data cleaning, sorting, and filtering
Ability to create MIS reports, dashboards, and financial summaries in Excel

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of:
GST (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C, QRMP)
TDS and statutory compliance
Advance Tax calculations
Balance Sheet finalization
Hands-on experience in Tally and Zoho Books
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / M.Com preferred)

Key Competencies

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities
Strong compliance and documentation skills
Excellent client handling and coordination ability
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
