Full job description

The Restaurant Kitchen Order Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring food orders between the restaurant’s front-of-house team, kitchen, delivery/takeaway operations, and other relevant departments. The role ensures that orders are received accurately, prepared on time, properly communicated, and dispatched or served according to restaurant standards.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, review, and coordinate dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and online food orders.
Ensure all orders are entered and communicated accurately to the kitchen team.
Monitor order preparation and prioritize orders according to required serving or dispatch times.
Coordinate effectively between kitchen staff, waitstaff, cashiers, delivery teams, and management.
Check orders for accuracy, completeness, presentation, and special customer requests before dispatch or service.
Track delayed, modified, cancelled, or urgent orders and communicate changes promptly.
Monitor kitchen order flow during busy periods and help maintain smooth operations.
Ensure special instructions, allergies, dietary requirements, and modifications are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
Coordinate with inventory or purchasing staff when an item is unavailable or running low.
Inform the relevant team when menu items are unavailable and help prevent incorrect orders.
Maintain accurate order records and assist with resolving order-related customer complaints.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and restaurant operating procedures.
Support the kitchen and service teams during peak hours as required.
Prepare basic order and operational reports when requested by management.
Maintain professional communication and teamwork at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering, or food-service environment is preferred.
Good knowledge of kitchen and restaurant operations.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service periods.
Basic computer and POS/order-management system knowledge.
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Order accuracy and completeness.
Timely preparation and dispatch of orders.
Effective coordination between front and back of house.
Reduction of order delays, errors, and customer complaints.
Compliance with food safety and restaurant procedures.
Customer satisfaction and smooth service during peak periods.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, including frequent communication with kitchen and service teams. The coordinator may be required to stand for extended periods and work during busy meal services, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
