Le Pondy, operated by Joy’s The Beach Resort Pvt. Ltd., is a premium beach resort located in Puducherry, offering guests a relaxing beachfront experience with accommodation, food and beverage services, recreational facilities, and hospitality services.

The resort focuses on providing guests with a comfortable, clean, safe, and memorable stay. The Housekeeping Department plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, appearance, and overall guest experience of the property.

Job Description – Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor

Position: Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager
Location: Le Pondy, Puducherry

Job Purpose

The Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for learning and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department under the guidance of the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor. The trainee will gain practical knowledge in guest room cleaning, public area maintenance, staff supervision, linen management, hygiene, and guest service.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Operations
Assist in the daily housekeeping operations of the resort.
Learn and follow the hotel's housekeeping standards and procedures.
Assist in allocating duties to housekeeping staff under supervision.
Guest Room Inspection
Assist in inspecting guest rooms for cleanliness and proper presentation.
Check bathrooms, beds, furniture, amenities, and other room facilities.
Report maintenance issues to the concerned department.
Public Area Cleaning
Monitor and assist with the cleanliness of lobbies, corridors, washrooms, restaurants, pool areas, and other public areas.
Ensure assigned areas are maintained according to resort standards.
Staff Supervision
Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in monitoring staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and work performance.
Guide housekeeping attendants in proper cleaning procedures.
Learn basic team coordination and supervision skills.
Linen and Uniform
Assist in monitoring linen, towels, uniforms, and other housekeeping items.
Learn proper procedures for issuing, collecting, storing, and maintaining linen.
Cleaning Materials and Equipment
Learn the correct use and handling of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
Monitor the availability of cleaning materials and report shortages.
Follow safety instructions while handling chemicals and equipment.
Guest Service
Assist in responding to housekeeping-related guest requests.
Maintain polite and professional communication with guests.
Immediately report guest complaints to the concerned supervisor.
Lost and Found
Follow the resort's Lost and Found procedure.
Report any items found in guest rooms or public areas to the supervisor immediately.
Assist with proper documentation and safe handling of found items.
Coordination
Assist in coordinating with Front Office regarding room status and guest requirements.
Coordinate with Engineering regarding room maintenance issues.
Assist other departments whenever housekeeping support is required.
Training and Learning
Learn all aspects of housekeeping operations.
Attend departmental training and briefing sessions.
Understand resort policies, hygiene standards, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
Develop leadership and supervisory skills during the training period.

Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
Freshers and candidates undergoing hotel management training may be considered.
Basic knowledge of housekeeping operations is preferred.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and work in shifts.
