About the Role:
The Manager –Production planning and operational excellence at Jhagadia and Dahej unit will be responsible for leading the day-to-day plant operations, culminating in crossing the annual Production targets as part of Annual Business Plan each year at the Jhagadia and Dahej manufacturing facility. The person must provide guidance, direction and leadership towards all aspects of the plant operations i.e., increase production, planning, time cycle reduction through the operational excellence, yield improvement, new plant commissioning, equipment qualification and improvement in QMS.
The Manager Production planning and operational excellence must demonstrate a hands-on approach to management plans and direct the plant operations to achieve plant objectives in safety, quality, production output and delivery.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- To provide the required technical support and assist to VP operations in day-to-day operations and in new plant commissioning.
- Monthly production planning and co-ordinating to production team based on the requirements provided by BD team.
- Implementation and tracking of the OEE in all plants to ensure production as per capacity.
- Implementation of the operational excellence in plants to improve the yield, increase the productivity by complete occupancy of equipment, debottlenecking of the equipment and reduction of the RM and PM consumption.
- Tracking of the utility consumptions and co-ordinate with concern department for reduction in utility consumption.
- Maintain the monthly and yearly MIS data regarding production, yield and consumption norms. Evaluation of the data to be done wherever there is scope of improvement.
- Training to all the shop floor team regarding the operation excellence and reduce delays and improve productivity and yield.
- Training the shop floor team on QMS systems and co-ordinate and support to the plant in-charge for the effective implementation.
- Participate in commissioning the new plants by coordinating with team and complete the qualification of the equipments.
- To work for energy and cost saving projects under guidance of the VP operations.
- Achieve customer delivery on time in full (OTIF) as per commitment (>95%), address customer complaints.
Job Specification:
- 10- 15 + years of experience in manufacturing of which at least 3 – 5 years in new plant commissioning, qualification and operational excellence.
- Plant P&L management - strong functional expertise, Strong process and operational skills.
- High level of ownership, willingness to set up processes from scratch. Ability to work in an unstructured environment.
- High energy, teamwork, and passion for development of shop floor team.

Other pre-requisites:
1. Education qualification – Bachelors or master’s in chemical engineering.
2. Hands-on experience, expertise and knowledge of new plant commissioning and operational excellence.
3. Complete understanding, knowledge & experience of the QMS required in manufacturing
4. Impeccable history & reputation for Integrity, Result orientation, Execution, Strategic mindset, People leadership & Client management.
