Full job description

The Junior Lawyer shall assist the litigation and corporate legal team in handling matters before various courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities. The role includes legal research, drafting pleadings, preparing case files, coordinating with clients and counsels, appearing before judicial and quasi-judicial authorities wherever permitted, and ensuring timely compliance with legal and procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Litigation & Court Matters

Assist in handling matters before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), High Courts, District Courts, Commercial Courts, Consumer Commissions, Arbitration Tribunals, and other judicial and quasi-judicial authorities.
Draft petitions, applications, appeals, affidavits, replies, rejoinders, written submissions, synopsis, compilations, and other litigation documents.
Prepare case briefs and maintain litigation files.
Coordinate with advocates, senior counsels, clients, and court officials.
Monitor case status, hearing dates, and statutory timelines.
Attend court hearings and assist senior counsel during proceedings.
Prepare briefs and documentation for arguments and hearings.

2. Corporate & Insolvency Laws

Assist in matters relating to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016.
Prepare applications and responses under the Companies Act, 2013.
Assist in oppression and mismanagement matters, mergers, demergers, liquidation, CIRP, and other corporate litigation.
Coordinate with Resolution Professionals, Liquidators, Financial Creditors, Operational Creditors, and statutory authorities.

3. Banking & Recovery Matters

Assist in recovery proceedings before DRT and DRAT.
Draft pleadings relating to banking disputes, loan recovery, SARFAESI proceedings, and enforcement actions.
Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, and borrowers regarding legal proceedings.

4. Legal Research & Advisory

Conduct extensive legal research on statutes, notifications, rules, regulations, and judicial precedents.
Prepare legal opinions, research notes, and case summaries.
Track amendments and significant judicial pronouncements.

5. Drafting & Documentation

Draft and review:
Agreements and Contracts
Legal Notices
Replies and Representations
Memoranda of Appeal
Writ Petitions
Affidavits and Undertakings
Board Resolutions and Shareholders' Resolutions
Legal Opinions
Due Diligence Reports
Compliance Documents

6. Regulatory & Corporate Compliance

Assist in compliance under the Companies Act, 2013, FEMA, SEBI Regulations, Contract Act, Labour Laws, and other applicable laws.
Coordinate filings with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) and other regulatory authorities.
Support corporate restructuring and secretarial assignments.

7. Client Management

Attend client meetings and understand legal requirements.
Prepare meeting notes and action points.
Provide regular updates on litigation and compliance matters.
Coordinate for collection of documents and evidence.

8. Documentation & Case Management

Maintain complete case records and legal documentation.
Prepare hearing folders and paper books.
Ensure proper indexing and filing of documents.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information.

9. General Responsibilities

Assist Partners and Senior Lawyers in legal assignments.
Liaise with government departments, tribunals, and regulatory authorities.
Perform any legal, compliance, or advisory assignment entrusted by the management.

Qualifications

LL.B. (Mandatory)
LL.M. (Preferred)
Enrollment with the State Bar Council is preferred.

Experience

0–3 years of experience in litigation and corporate legal practice.
Fresh advocates with strong drafting and research skills may also apply.

Skills Required

Excellent legal drafting and pleading skills.
Strong knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, Contract Act, CPC, Arbitration Act, SARFAESI Act, Recovery of Debts laws, FEMA, SEBI Regulations, Labour Laws, and other commercial laws.
Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
Ability to prepare pleadings and case compilations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases.
Ability to work under strict deadlines and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
Professional ethics, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
