About the role
You will be the analyst embedded with a software development team building an insurance technology product. Your job is to make sure the team is always building the right thing: you sit in the requirement conversations with business and client stakeholders, and you sit in the sprint with the developers who have to make it real.
This is a hands-on hybrid role, part business analyst and part technical analyst. You will not hand over a document and walk away. You will stay with a requirement from the first stakeholder discussion through specification, build, UAT and release, answering the developers' questions as they come up
Insurance domain exposure policy administration, claims, underwriting, broking from what was asked. they come up and pushing back when what is being built has drifted from what was asked.

Insurance domain exposure policy administration, claims, underwriting, broking or similar is preferred and will move your profile to the top of the list. Strong analysts from adjacent BFSI domains will also be considered.
What you will do
- Run requirement discussions with internal and client stakeholders, then document and get sign-off
- Turn those conversations into functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria a developer can pick up and build from without coming back to you for basics
- Work out the technical impact of every ask: which data, which interfaces, which workflows, which reports
- Write and run your own SQL to validate data, investigate issues and answer business questions, instead of queuing behind a developer
- Produce process flows, wireframes and field-level mapping documents
- Sit with the developers day to day through the sprint: clarify edge cases, review what has been built against the spec, and catch gaps before QA does
- Own UAT: build test scenarios, coordinate business users, track defects and close them out
- Keep the backlog clean in JIRA and maintain traceability from original ask through to release
- Be the single point of contact between business and engineering, translating in both directions
