Job Summary
Orange Health Labs is looking for Junior Lab Technicians to join our diagnostic laboratory team in Mumbai.
This position is suitable for candidates with a DMLT, BMLT, B.Sc. MLT, or Medical Laboratory Technology qualification. Freshers with relevant educational qualifications are also welcome to apply.
The selected candidate will support day-to-day laboratory operations, including patient sample processing, routine testing, analyzer operations, quality control, documentation, and adherence to laboratory safety and SOP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, identify, verify, and process patient samples as per laboratory procedures.
- Perform pre-analytical activities including sample sorting, centrifugation, separation, aliquoting, and storage.
- Process samples for routine investigations across Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Perform laboratory tests using manual techniques and automated analyzers.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment according to approved SOPs.
- Monitor analyzer performance and report equipment issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
- Perform and document routine Quality Control (QC) activities.
- Ensure accurate sample identification, processing, testing, and documentation.
- Identify and escalate sample-related issues, abnormal observations, or technical concerns.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality standards, and safety protocols at all times.
- Handle biological specimens safely and follow biomedical waste management procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory work area.
- Coordinate with senior technicians and laboratory supervisors for smooth laboratory operations.
- Complete assigned testing within the required Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling high sample volumes.

Biochemistry
- Routine biochemical sample processing and testing
- Sample preparation and aliquoting
- Automated analyzer operations
- Quality control monitoring
Hematology
- Routine hematology sample processing
- Automated hematology analyzer operations
- Basic quality checks and documentation
Clinical Pathology
- Routine urine and other specimen processing
- Manual laboratory procedures
- Sample identification and documentation
Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
- DMLT
- BMLT
- B.Sc. MLT
- B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology
- Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
Experience:
- Freshers can apply.
- Candidates with prior diagnostic laboratory experience are preferred.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of diagnostic laboratory procedures.
- Understanding of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Knowledge of sample processing, centrifugation, separation, and aliquoting.
- Basic understanding of laboratory SOPs and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with automated laboratory analyzers is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume laboratory environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and work with different laboratory processes and equipment.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Rotational shifts
- Weekend working as per operational requirements
- Rotational weekly offs
