Role Summary
We’re looking for a dependable and technically capable WordPress Developer to support the ongoing maintenance, improvement, and development of client websites. This role is primarily focused on keeping websites up to date, secure, functional, and well maintained, while also supporting technical fixes, new page builds, and full website projects where needed.
You’ll work across a range of client websites, handling day-to-day WordPress maintenance, plugin and theme updates, bug fixing, performance improvements, layout changes, and general website support. The role may also spill over into broader technical work such as troubleshooting integrations, resolving functionality issues, supporting website launches, and assisting with new website builds.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable working across both maintenance and build work. You should be confident in WordPress, familiar with front-end changes, and able to diagnose and solve common technical issues efficiently.
You should also be comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and other relevant technical workflow tools to support troubleshooting, code assistance, documentation, QA, and efficiency — while ensuring all technical work is properly checked before implementation.
Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Maintenance
Carry out regular maintenance across client WordPress websites to ensure they remain stable, secure, and up to date.
Handle plugin updates, theme updates, WordPress core updates, backups, and general website health checks.
Spot issues early and resolve them before they become larger problems.
Support monthly maintenance routines across client websites with a high level of consistency and attention to detail.
Technical Fixes & Troubleshooting
Identify and resolve bugs, formatting issues, broken functionality, plugin conflicts, and general technical website problems.
Troubleshoot issues across forms, integrations, front-end layouts, page builders, theme settings, and WordPress functionality.
Work through issues methodically and implement fixes properly rather than relying on temporary workarounds.
Support the wider team with technical problem-solving when websites need attention.
Website Builds & Development Support
Support the build of new WordPress websites, landing pages, and internal page templates where needed.
Turn approved designs into working WordPress pages or websites using the agreed tools and build process.
Make layout updates, content changes, styling edits, and structural improvements across existing websites.
Assist with launches, staging environments, pre-launch checks, and post-launch support.
Performance & Technical Improvements
Help improve the speed, performance, and technical health of client websites.
Review and improve issues related to page speed, plugin bloat, asset handling, layout efficiency, and front-end performance.
Support technical improvements that contribute to better usability, SEO readiness, and website stability.
Help maintain clean builds and reduce unnecessary technical debt over time.
QA & Website Checks
Carry out website QA before updates, launches, and handovers.
Check responsiveness, layout consistency, broken links, forms, navigation, and general user experience across devices.
Ensure work is tested properly before it is marked complete.
Help maintain a high quality standard across all website work delivered by the team.
Hosting, Staging & Technical Support
Support with staging sites, migrations, backups, DNS-related tasks, plugin licensing, and basic hosting-related updates where needed.
Work with the wider technical team or hosting support person when deeper server-side issues arise.
Be comfortable handling routine technical website tasks beyond basic content edits.
Collaboration & Project Delivery
Work closely with designers, project managers, SEO team members, content team members, and leadership to deliver website work accurately and on time.
Use project management tools such as ClickUp to manage tasks, updates, statuses, and follow-ups clearly.
Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, fixes, and time needed for technical work.
Take feedback well and implement revisions efficiently.
Documentation & Process
Document recurring fixes, maintenance steps, technical notes, and setup details where needed.
Help build clearer internal processes around maintenance, development, QA, and launches.
Support better visibility and consistency across ongoing website work.
AI-Assisted Development Workflows
Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and other relevant technical support tools to assist with:
- Troubleshooting support
- Code assistance
- Documentation
- QA support
- Task breakdowns
- Technical research
Use AI to improve speed and efficiency, while ensuring all code, fixes, and technical decisions are checked properly before going live.
RequirementsMust-Haves
2+ years of experience working on WordPress websites in a development, maintenance, or technical support capacity.
Strong working knowledge of WordPress and common website maintenance workflows.
Experience handling plugin updates, theme updates, backups, and technical website fixes.
Comfortable making front-end changes across HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript where needed.
Experience working with page builders, themes, and common WordPress tools.
Strong troubleshooting ability across website issues, plugin conflicts, styling bugs, and broken functionality.
Able to support both ongoing maintenance work and new build tasks.
Strong attention to detail and a reliable approach to testing and QA.
Comfortable using ClickUp or similar project management tools to manage work clearly.
Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to support efficiency, problem-solving, and technical workflows.
Nice to Have
Experience building custom WordPress websites or working from Figma designs.
Familiarity with Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or similar builders.
Experience with ACF, CPTs, basic PHP edits, or theme-level customisation.
Understanding of website performance optimisation and SEO best practice implementation.
Experience with staging environments, migrations, DNS, SSL, and hosting basics.
Familiarity with WooCommerce or other WordPress-based integrations.
Experience working in an agency or on multiple client websites at once.

Working Arrangement
This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Gurgaon office.
You’ll work closely with the wider team to keep client websites maintained, functional, and progressing properly.
The role requires strong attention to detail, reliable delivery, clear communication, and the ability to manage a mix of recurring maintenance and broader development work.
