Video Editor — Full-Time
Location: Kolkata, West Bengal
Work Mode: Full-time, in-office
Experience: 1–3 years preferred. Freshers with a strong showreel may apply.
CTC: Rs 3,00,000 – Rs 5,00,000 per annum, depending on skill, experience, showreel quality, and test assignment performance.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Video Editor who understands the emotional power of storytelling and can transform raw footage into films that feel cinematic, immersive, and deeply human.
At Framed, editing is not just about assembling clips. It is about rhythm, pacing, emotion, music, silence, narrative flow, and knowing what a moment is supposed to make someone feel.
Whether it is a wedding film, portrait story, social reel, commercial campaign, or brand video, your work will shape how people remember important moments.
You’ll work closely with filmmakers, cinematographers, editors, and creative leads to craft visually rich stories that feel authentic, emotionally resonant, and timeless.
About Framed
Framed is a Kolkata-based photography and videography company founded in 2014.
Our work spans weddings, commercial campaigns, social storytelling, portraits, and cinematic brand films. We are storytellers first — obsessed with rhythm, emotion, visuals, music, authenticity, and meaningful documentation.
Our brands include:
Framed Memoirs — Emotion-rich wedding storytelling
Framed Productions — Commercial films and branded content
Framed Studio — Portraits, maternity, and family storytelling
We’re building a team of creators who care deeply about meaningful work, cinematic storytelling, discipline, ownership, and creative growth.
Types of Projects You’ll Work On
You may be required to work on:
- Wedding trailers and teasers
- Wedding films / long-format edits
- Mini episodes and documentation edits
- Instagram reels and social media videos
- Portrait and studio films
- Commercial brand videos
- Internal culture / training videos
- Short-format campaign edits
This is a mixed-format editing role. The candidate should be comfortable working on both emotionally driven cinematic edits and structured routine edits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Editing & Storytelling
- Edit trailers, wedding films, highlight reels, commercial content, portraits, and social media videos.
- Transform raw footage into emotionally engaging narratives.
- Build edits with strong pacing, transitions, music sync, and storytelling structure.
- Understand the emotional intent of a video and edit accordingly.
- Craft edits that align with Framed’s cinematic and emotional storytelling style.
- Select moments thoughtfully instead of relying only on effects or fast cuts.
2. Creative Post-Production
- Work on basic color correction, sound balancing, motion graphics, and visual polish.
- Collaborate with cinematographers, editors, and creative leads to achieve the intended vision.
- Ensure all final outputs align with Framed’s visual and storytelling standards.
- Experiment with newer editing styles, transitions, formats, and AI-assisted workflows where relevant.
- Adapt editing style depending on the project — wedding, commercial, portrait, social media, or internal content.
3. Workflow & Project Management
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and deadlines.
- Organize project timelines, footage, exports, and backup workflows efficiently.
- Follow internal folder structures, naming conventions, and export protocols.
- Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and revise edits without ego.
- Maintain clear communication with the production and editing teams.
- Update project status regularly on the company’s project management system.
- Communicate delays or blockers in advance instead of waiting until the deadline.
Creative Skills Required
- Strong storytelling instincts.
- Good emotional understanding of moments, people, music, and pacing.
- Good sense of rhythm, mood, silence, and visual flow.
- Ability to build an edit that feels cinematic without making it artificial.
- Understanding of music selection, beat cuts, emotional pauses, and scene progression.
- Ability to identify strong moments from large volumes of footage.
- Taste for films, music, visual culture, and human stories.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar editing software.
- Basic understanding of color correction and visual consistency.
- Basic sound cleanup, audio balancing, and music mixing.
- Understanding of export settings for different platforms.
- Ability to maintain clean project files and organised timelines.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics, titles, subtitles, and text animation.
- Comfort with different aspect ratios and formats — horizontal films, vertical reels, stories, and social media exports.
Work Discipline Expected
At Framed, creative freedom comes with responsibility. The editor is expected to maintain discipline in both creative and technical workflows.
You will be expected to:
- Maintain clean project files, folder structures, timelines, exports, and backups.
- Follow internal naming conventions and workflow systems.
- Respect deadlines and delivery commitments.
- Take feedback positively and implement changes properly.
- Keep communication clear, written, and timely.
- Maintain confidentiality of client footage and internal project material.
- Stay organised even when handling multiple projects.
- Show ownership instead of waiting for constant supervision.
Bonus If You
- Have experience in wedding or event filmmaking.
- Understand cinematic editing styles and narrative structures.
- Have motion graphics or VFX knowledge.
- Have experience with DaVinci Resolve workflows.
- Have worked on short-form social media reels.
- Experiment with AI-assisted editing tools.
- Are passionate about films, music, documentaries, travel videos, wedding films, and visual storytelling culture.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who:
- Enjoys emotionally driven storytelling.
- Wants to grow as a serious editor, not just a software operator.
- Can balance creativity with discipline.
- Is open to feedback and repeated improvement.
- Understands that a good edit is built through patience, structure, and taste.
- Wants to work across weddings, brands, portraits, and social media formats.
- Takes ownership of timelines, files, revisions, and final output quality.
- Is willing to learn Framed’s internal editing language and standards.

Your work will directly contribute to client films, wedding stories, brand campaigns, portraits, reels, and internal content across Framed’s three verticals.
