Cashiers are responsible for managing customer transactions, processing payments (cash, credit, debit), scanning items accurately, and providing friendly service. Key duties include operating POS systems, handling returns and exchanges, maintaining a clean checkout area, and resolving customer complaints. Transaction Processing: Scanning products, weighing items, processing cash/card payments, and issuing receipts.
Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, providing product information, and resolving complaints in a professional manner.
Cash Handling & Security: Balancing the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, identifying counterfeit money, and following store security procedures.
Merchandising & Maintenance: Keeping the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (bags, receipt paper).
Returns and Exchanges: Processing refunds and exchanges according to store policy.
Sales Support: Assisting with bagging items, restocking shelves during slow periods, and informing customers about promotions or loyalty

Required Skills and Qualifications

Basic Math: Ability to calculate change and balance a cash drawer.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal skills for interacting with customers.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate pricing and scanning.
